Hello everyone
Hello, My name is Alicia. I’m 38 from Ohio. I’m 5’3” and weigh 186 lbs. I suffer from some heart issues and Crohn’s disease, so my weight has gotten a little out of my comfort zone. I'm looking to lose about 36 lbs this year. The only exercise I’ve been cleared to do by my heart doctor is walking. During the spring,…

Need advice on calorie intake
Looking at my Apple Watch and MFP does it look like I’m under eating? I have my calorie intake manually set at 1380. If I set my account to losing 1 pound a week at sedentary it puts me at 1270 calories. I’ve tried that and I feel awful so I bumped it up to 1380. The weight is coming off very slowly and I constantly feel…

Calculating TDEE on Apple Watch
I want to make sure I’m calculating this correctly. To get my TDEE I would add my resting energy with my active energy correct? That would be 2148 and then subtract 500. I then would need to eat at 1648 a day to lose 1 pound a week. I’m currently eating 1500 a day and while I dont feel hungry I just want to make sure I’m…

Calories burned from steps
Ok so today I’ve taken over 13k steps (didn’t exercise today) and it gave me 115 calories for those steps. Does that seem about right? I have my settings at sedentary with losing 1 pound a week. I had my settings at lightly active with losing 1 pound a week, but I wanted to try something that a few others I’ve talked to…

Daily steps and calories
I take anywhere from 10k to 20k steps a day. For example yesterday I took 14,935 and that’s without exercise. When I exercise my steps range from 13k to 20k. So I know I’m considered lightly active to active. I have my account set at lightly active with losing 1 pound a week. My question is when my steps sync over to MFP…

Calorie intake & activity level?
Curious if not eating enough can really prevent you from not losing weight. I know it can slow the metabolism down. I’m walking anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 steps a day with a average of around 14,000. But I do also walk a hour a day for exercise. I have my activity level set at sedentary. But doing that it gives me…

Apple Watch or Fitbit?!?
I currently have the Apple Watch series 2. While I do like a lot about it (mainly that I can use a external HR monitor during workouts) it does give me some issues. Number 1 being that it doesn’t give me credit for exercise when using outdoor walk. I can take a brisk outdoor walk for a hour and my heart rate be within 50…

Any other Apple Watch users notice they don't get adjustments for their steps?
I get credit for my exercise and that's it. I hardly ever get a adjustment for the steps I take. Does any one else experience this? Also I noticed on my homepage my steps matches what my Apple Watch says, but in my diary it's less. I tried to search the problem on here and MFP says that a person isn't getting a calorie…

How long should you stay in a calorie deficit?
What is everyone's opinion on how long to stay in a calorie deficit? I've been doing a lot of reading and everything I have read said to only stay in a calorie deficit for 10 to 12 weeks and then take a 2 to 3 week break eating at maintenance and then repeat until you hit your goal weight? I've currently been in a calorie…

Hey all. I'm Alicia I'm 33 from Ohio. I started my weight loss journey January 4th of this year after being on strict restrictions for 1.5 years because of some heart problems. On top of the heart problems I also have Crohns. During the time I was on restrictions I gained a lot of weight due to being inactive, not watching…

Should I bump up my activity level?
I've asked this question before. But my activity has increased and wanted others opinions. First of all I'm 5'3.5 and weigh 174 pounds. I've lost little over 22 pounds since January 4th. Around 5 days a week I'm taking roughly around 11,500 steps (which does include 40 min of exercise) the other 2 days I take around 5500…

Just curious how many people incorporate sweets into their diet? I make sure I have at least 150 to 200 calories a day set back for something sweet.

Weight hasn't budged in 2 weeks
Ok so I had a procedure on my heart (EP study) on Feb 7th. On that day I weighed myself and had lost 1.2 pounds since my last weigh in which put me at just a little over 2 pounds lost that week. I was steadily losing 1.5 to little over 2 pounds a week up until that point. After the procedure I had to take it easy for about…

Activity level
So I walk anywhere from 6000 to 10,500 steps a day (5 days of the week those steps do include working out). But usually I'm averaging right around 8500 a day. I have my activity level set to sedentary because I don't work outside of the home. We own a business so I handle everything from home. But I do solely take care of…

My heart doctor suggested I try to connect with others who have heart problems and are also trying to lose weight or who have lost weight. My name is Alicia, I'm 33 years old 5'3 and weigh 185 pounds. I have Afib, mitral valve prolapse and something else funky going on that we haven't figured out yet lol. I also have…

Question regarding calorie deficit
Ok so I've posted on here before and got mixed opinions. I need to know if I'm looking at this correctly. I live a pretty sedentary lifestyle as I'm a stay at home mom and business owner. I do spend a good amount of the day at the computer doing invoices, keeping up bookkeeping etc. I do walk on the treadmill for a hour a…

How much cardio a week?
For the past 3 weeks I've been doing brisk walking at a incline of 6 or more everyday. My heart doctor cleared me the other day to start using my elliptical again. I've been doing 30 min of brisk walking at a incline of 6 or more AND doing 30 min on the elliptical the past couple days. Yesterday after working out I felt…

Do you eat exercise calories back or not?
I've heard you should and I've heard you shouldn't. What do all of you do? Also what would my activity level be? I typically walk around 3.5 to 4.5 miles a day (8500 to 9500) steps. I'm a stay at home mom/business owner so all my work is done from home. I try to be active and not sit all day. I walk on the treadmill 2…

Need to lose around 56 pounds. Desperate need of help!!
Ok I've been battling losing weight for the past couple years. Like others I will go on a diet and workout 5 days a week and do good for awhile but then I stop. My main problem isn't because I get bored or don't want to do it. I have what they believe is SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) but their not sure which kind.…
