Hey all. I'm Alicia I'm 33 from Ohio. I started my weight loss journey January 4th of this year after being on strict restrictions for 1.5 years because of some heart problems. On top of the heart problems I also have Crohns. During the time I was on restrictions I gained a lot of weight due to being inactive, not watching what I ate and starting a new medication for my Crohns.
In January of this year my doctor finally cleared me to start walking, in February I had a procedure on my heart that corrected one of the issues and a few weeks later I was completely off all restrictions. Since January 4th I've lost a total of 31.6 pounds. I still have 24 pounds left to lose. I'm 5'3 and my starting weight was 196.2 and I'm currently 164.6.
I'd love to hear other people's goals, progress and accomplishments.
Feel free to add me if you'd like as well..

I was diagnosed with Diabetes last July and lost 30 lbs due to my cutting sugar down. Now, I just want to get back into working out like i used to before i got pregnant, and to hopefully keep my diabetes from progressing worse.1

5'0 & 34 (almost 35) here. SW 152 CW 137 GW 110ish? I was losing pretty well eating 1200/day and doing an hr of indoor cycling 6 days/week but want to shape my body as I'm losing. I switched to 30 day shred 7 days ago and I really like it and already seeing some small changes in my body but the scale has bumped up 1-2lbs and holding steady which is a bummer...I know strength training causes water retention and my muscles were crazy sore last week but I'm really not sore anymore so I expected to lose that I guess. Oh well, I'm proud of myself thus far and really can feel that I will stick to it this time:^) The last few years I resolved to finally lose the 30lbs that have been plaguing me for years and 2017 will be my year!!1

Around 50lbs lost and currently 4 years into maintaining a bmi of around a 20. No longer a prediabetic and my twice a year blood work panels now consistently come back solid.
Current goal is to just get through another year of maintenance and hit 5 years next April, which is a big milestone since many people fail at weight loss adherance past a year, most fail before 2 years, and very few make it past the 5 year mark.1 -
I'm working my way up to curling 20lb weights soon! I just hit 15lb weights!2

Hi! I'm Brian.
I have a job where I sit all day. I've never cared about my diet my entire life. I just ate whatever I liked. I worked out for about 6 months back in 2003/2004. I didn't monitor my diet then. Just worked out, ran, etc. I was around 175-180 then. Increased my strength quite a bit (couldn't lift anything, with any body part).
I am 5'11" or 6'0". My weight in high school was 160 or 165 lbs (I'm 39 now). My weight has fluctuated from 175 to as high as 240 in '08 when I was truck driving.
My wife has been eating healthy for a while now. My son is also very active, he lifts weights a bunch, and he is in very good shape/condition. So, they got me thinking about fitness, but I was too lazy for a while to do anything about it.
Then, something happened in mid March this year... like flipping a switch, I decided to change my lifestyle. I was going to eat healthy, and exercise. I was about 215 lbs when I made this choice. I didn't want to diet and get skinny. I just wanted to change my life and getting thinner and looking better are just a byproduct (that I am eagerly anticipating).
So, at first, I just ate less, didn't calculate anything. I went to the gym, like 5 or 6x a week first 2 or three weeks. April 1st, my wife showed me the MFP app. At first I was like "really? This is a PIA!" However, after I became familiar with the app, I went to work. I log everything I eat. The only exception is the last few days, I have been eating like 2 or 3 potato chips from this bag of amazing chips my wife got for some unknown reason. I don't log it. 3 chips max once a day.
Anyways, so I've been pretty disciplined. Only day I went off the reservation was Easter Sunday. I didn't log that dinner. I probably ate a metric "kitten" ton of calories.

My program consists of a full body weightlifting routine 2 or 3 days a week, cardio on workout days, occasional walks/bikerides. I am trying for 1700 calories/day, and I achieve this almost always. If I go over, it might be 100-200, but I've been very determined with this.
When I started working out, I couldn't even do stair master for 5 mins. I can do it 25 minutes straight now if I want to. I usually do 20 mins, and the intensity has increased a bit since I started. I have added weight to all my lifting exercises too, even though I've been in a caloric deficit for over a month. I think those are just new gains. I am prepared for an inevitable plateau at some point....
My GW is 175. I want to see how I look at that weight, and then re assess my goals. I'm like skinny fat. I carry most of my fat on my belly and love handles (spare tire dude). It's coming off, but everywhere, not just there. Face is slimming down, arms, legs, whatever.
Once I trim down enough, I was planning on eating way more and bulking. I have never been strong at anything. I want to be able to bench press body weight (at least, never have been able to), jump higher, run if I want to, be more muscular (I have never had any form of muscle definition in my entire life), and not be embarrassed if I take my shirt off in the summer.
I try to balance the macros, but I'm not always successful. I don't plan the day's eating, I just eat what I need based on macros.
So, it's been maybe 6 or 6.5 weeks, lost 15-17lbs maybe... When I weighed in when I got gym membership (last week of march), I think I was 213.8 ish. Weighed in there yesterday, 2 hours after dinner, middle of day (I get up at like 1pm-2pm), and it said 198.2. Bathroom scale says 196.2 this morning. I dunno if it's accurate though. The scale at the gym is pretty legit.
If you read this far, congratulations! I typed much more stuff than I thought I would.
My journal is open. Anyone can look in there, and if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. I will hopefully be trim by July? We'll see.... I will post pictures somewhere here then. I don't want to show "before" pictures until I've changed alot. 15 or so lbs is not enough yet.
I feel better. I've never had abs my entire life, so I'm gonna see if I can get them. I don't even know what it would be like.... It's gonna be sweet!
The thing I am most excited about is maybe having better self esteem. I've always had terrible self esteem. That is probably why I just never cared about anything like food I eat or exercising.
So yeah. I'm determined. My life is in the process of changing. I wish I had done this 15 years ago.
And lastly, I need to quit smoking cigarettes. It's effin impossible.
