Fitbit exercise/step calories
Ok so yesterday I ate 3,000 kCals. However I also spend (according to my Fitbit) 273 minutes with my heart rate elevated and took 11,000 steps. The caloric adjustment from all this says I was still under by 900+ calories. This seems...odd. I also took some anxiety meds that caused me to be SUPER hyper and munchy, if that…

Let’s start over again!
Let’s do the one warp again! It’s just a jump to the left... So I am starting over. I was at 265-ish last year and am now 226 and 5’8”. My weight loss stalled for a number of reasons, but I’m starting again. After all, I’m stuck in my house for another month (according to my work) so why not. I’m logging diligently and…

Been underestimating calories
So I got a food scale and found out I had been VASTLY underestimating my calories. Mostly from bacon. I don’t like crispy bacon. So when I logged “strips of bacon” it gave me the wrong calorie value. I’ve lost 40 pounds in the past year but had hit a plateau. So it was kinda good to find that there might be a reason.

Beginner runner, some tips? (Chafing, blisters)
So I started walking/jogging a few weeks ago. I started walking and after my first encounter with blisters on the ball of my foot I bought a pair of Nike’s and an arch support. After another blister (not as bad) I went and bought some proper socks. No more blisters. I’m going slow because I’m fat, but a new problem is…

Need more paleo safe calories
So my box is doing a paleo challenge this month. Four weeks, no dairy no refined grains. So they did a body scan, which was eye opening. 233.9 lbs, 50% body fat. BMR 1513. Issue is that I've logged my food for the day and I still need 500 calories to hit my BMR. Is this a problem? I was thinking of hitting up the store for…

Using body fat to find ideal weight
I was just curious if this was possible. I'm 5'8". A few years ago I dropped to 155lbs. It was scary. My ribs stuck out, my hips were sharp angles. I was underweight. But my BMI was healthy. Now I'm at 227 with 36% body fat. I did some quick calcs and found if I'm aiming for a body fat of 20% I should aim for a weight of…

Husband and I, a health journey
Last weekend my husband decided that he was going to get healthy and lose weight. So I downloaded the app onto both our phones, and set our heights and weights, and began logging. We've been trying to eat clean, and apparently effects are fast because today at the engineering carnival I had carnival food and almost threw…
