  • I don’t know if they have these things where he is but I like Atkins endulge treats, as well as rebel ice cream.
  • I’m assuming you mean 77 kg, since 7.7kg is something like 20 lbs. but the answer is probably. Especially if you’re active. You’ll lose slowly, but you will lose.
  • So I have close to the same calorie goals. My macros are: 19g net carbs 118g fat 95g protein Yours sound reasonable. The goal is 70/25/5 in terms of percentage.
  • I loves me some fasting, but for you the answer is no. I’m actually somewhat concerned about your eating/fasting patterns. What I would recommend is upping your protein intake, and try to change your body composition.
  • So I log twice, once here for calories, and once in the Carb Manager app. That app will do it for you. It does a great job with net carbs. If you are comfortable doing it yourself it’s total carbs, minus fiber, and sometimes minus sugar alcohols.

  • I go commando. I’ve heard it’s healthier for workout/right after a workout.
  • 20g of net carbs is your general limit. Try to hit that or less but a couple grams above before you work out isn’t going to kill you. If you exercise you can go over your protein goal, a lot of people don’t get enough protein.
  • Cookies. I love cookies.
  • Yup. But I was starting keto so it was a bad physical shock. If you’re only cutting calories but keeping your macros the same you’ll likely be hungry and your brain will object. It’ll object no matter what.

  • I went online and searched for ones with a high arch and were helpful for fat people. Then went to REI and asked for running socks. Solved the blister problem. As to the chafing, I’ve been using baby powder when I can, and it works amazing but it’s hard to apply to some areas. I’ve heard body glide is better.
  • My dr put me on it and it’s fine. It’s not a magic weight loss pill, you still need a caloric deficit. Not everyone likes it and not everyone’s body reacts well to it.
  • What's wrong with ice cream? Skinny cow. When I eat ice cream I eat the ice cream pops or single package things. Better for portion control.
  • I just turned 30 and I want to run a 5k. I want to go hiking and swimming. I'm 225 lbs with 35% body fat. I want to be strong. I want to be fit. I want energy. And I don't want to struggle with depression. Eating right and exercise is great for depression.
  • If you got an iPhone you have a monitor in your phone that turns off the pedometer if you go over a certain speed. Anecdotal, but I've noticed if you put the phone in a leg pocket (like in cargo shorts) it will count steps if you're on a treadmill. So putting it in the cup holder might work too.
  • I like C25K as well. And I prefer the indoor track, since it's easier for starting runners (such as myself). I'm also hesitant to recommend running at all. Walking might be better at first, or doing biking and ellipticals.
  • Eh. So I've been and that's my reaction. Eh. I'm a solitary person and I like to be left alone to my own space when I work out. PF is large enough to where I'm not waiting on machines or cardio equipment. That being said, I'm not competitive. I just want a space to do some simple stuff. I prefer the gym at my university,…
  • Yup. Right after I wake up.
  • Thanks. Went back. Assuming a 7% reduction in lean body mass and a goal body fat of 20% (both are aggressive numbers) adjusted goal is ABOUT 169 ignoring significant figures. Yay math!
  • Widest point on hips, around my navel, narrowest point on waist, wrist, widest part of forearm, widest part of bicep, widest part of thigh, and neck. Then put in height and weight.
  • If it's working for you and your doctor says you are healthy, then that should be enough. Everyone's body is different, and they need different things. I could not subsist on the diet you have, and you'd likely find mine disgusting. But our calories are about the same. Since I don't know what you look like I can't comment…
  • So I like it because im a quantitative type of person (engineer) and this is a concrete method of measurement. Im also super duper lazy and doing measurements to find out body fat is a hassle when I can just step on a scale in the morning.
  • So he took our BMI and he's a bit startled. "We're both obese!" he cries. Fine, I tell him, but that's not the be-all-end-all. We both know what I look like at 155 and it's bad. So this morning I took some measurements and checked my body fat percentage. 36.5%. I buy that.
  • Take a walk. Not even joking with this, I struggle with depression. And when I get blue or stressed I stress eat. What really helps is exercise. Take a walk, go to the gym, play with the dog, clean the house, do some sit-ups. Anything to get you moving.
