Seeking friends
I'm looking for friends with similar workout routines and goals. I've been lifting for about 3 years and maintained my weight while lifting heavy for the first 1.5 years of that. I really loved the way I looked and felt at that time. Then I slowly started to not pay attention to my diet and I have ended up gaining about…

accountability post
I ditched the scale in June but unfortunately I also ate like a jerk and the result was a weight gain of about 4 pounds. Over the last year I have put on about 7/8 pounds total, about 12 pounds in the last two years. In 2017 I got to my lowest weight of 115 lbs and maintained it for a year. It's time to reverse it and…

Are visible abs worth it?
I'm curious on how others feel about wanting visible abs. Is it worth the sacrifice to get there? And is it sustainable, especially for women, and healthy? I go back and forth with if I want to diet down enough for visible abs, most of the time I feel it's not worth it, I like to eat too much.

Getting back on track
I've slowly fell off the wagon over the last 1.5 years and have gained about 7 pounds. I would like to lose them and find my love for working out again. I need active friends to help keep me motivated. I'm a busy mom, student, and work part time as a nurse. Anyone else with similar circumstances?

Keeping it simple
Happy New Year! Last year I really struggled with motivation. Thankfully I was able to continue to maintain my weight. But I kept giving myself too many goals and didn't meet any of them. I had a hard time sticking with any kind of plan and often felt terrible with myself for this. This year I just want to keep it simple.…

Yoga
Hi, I'm transitioning from a weightlifting focus to a yoga strength building focus and I'm looking for people who practice daily yoga to help encourage and share that community with. Also is there a yoga group within the MFP community?

Road trip food
I'm going to visit family soon. It is a 13 hour drive and we do it straight through with only bathroom stops and maybe one restaurant. I have my husband and three kids (ages 5-10) traveling with me. I need ideas for food that is fun to eat but not going to totally kill my diet. I need easy and not messy food. I mean my…

Advice please
I feel like I look too soft. I want more definition but I'm unsure the best way to get it. I know fat loss will help reveal the muscles I have. But I'm not sure if I have much to reveal. I have been 6 pounds lighter than this and honestly looked about the same. I lost around 20 pounds in 2017, I didn't lift weights at that…

Bike question
Right now I have an old bike that I just ride for leisure and it sucks. I want to train for El Tour de Tucson, but I also want to be able to trail ride. Any recommendations for a bike that I could use for both? I also don't want to spend too much, and I'm open to purchasing a used bike if it's in good condition. TIA.

Deficit = depression
I originally got to my goal weight in 2017 and had no issues with eating in a calorie deficit. I maintained my weight without a problem. A few times I have attempted to eat in a deficit again to lose another 5 pounds (I have a goal to see my 6 pack). It always starts out fine but about 5-6 weeks in I start feeling really…

Imbalance right vs left legs
I posted this on my main page too but would like extra feedback. I worked on my pistol squats today, I'm still using assistance on both sides. However, it is ridiculous how much stronger my right side is than my left. Other than single leg exercises is there anything else I can do to try and fix the imbalance?

Calisthenics question
This is purely out of curiosity. Could one gain muscle following a calisthenics/bodyweight routine? Assuming this person's nutrition is on point for bulking.

Checking in
I was so afraid to start the bulking process, worried about gaining weight after losing. But, I'm up about 5 pounds from my lowest weight and I actually look better, who knew? I kinda wish I would have started sooner. Anyone else bulking for the first time?

Weight fluctuations
When bulking how far into your weight trend do you look before making adjustments to the food you are consuming? I haven't gained any weight in over a week. Should I eat more now or wait and see another week or two? My weight fluctuates up or down less than a pound throughout the week, so I'm looking at the trend for a…

Booty or abs
It's kind of hard to have abs show when you're building the booty. Would you rather have a flat tummy with a six pack or a round built booty? In the end I want both and one day I'll get there. But for now I'm building the booty.

Strong Curves
I decided to switch my routine from an upper/lower to strong curves. I'm running the advanced program. If you are currently running it (beginner or advanced) and a female please add me. I've tried this program once before but didn't stick with it so the support would be great!

Kneeling squat
Is a kneeling squat an acceptable substitute for the hip thrust? My program has hip thrust 4x a week and I would like to change it up for just one of those days as the hip thrust is not a favorite of mine to do.

Core Strength
I would like to do more strengthening for my core. I lift weights following a program 4x a week. There is some direct core work but not a ton. I do know that compound lifts also strengthen the core. I am wondering if Pilates 1-2x a week would be good to add or if it would be overtraining. Does anyone here do Pilates in…

Inadvertently bulking
So, I've been in maintenance for about a year and a half. I've been on the fence about running bulk/cut cycles or just doing a long term recomp for a while. I was driving myself crazy so I quit logging my food about 2.5 months ago to give myself a break. I've still been lifting. Well over these last 2.5 months I've gained…

Lifting belts
I need recommendations for a lifting belt. I'm short waisted so the space between the bottom of my rib cage and the top of my hips is only about 3 inches. Does anyone know if a good lifting belt that will fit these parameters?

Routines
I'm getting a bit burnt out on my current workout routine. I've been lifting 4-5 times a week following an upper/lower split for about a year now. I've switched my accessory lifts from time to time. I've done very hit or miss cardio because recomp was my focus and I enjoyed resistance training so much. I considered bulking…

Building muscle
I want to build my legs, booty, shoulders, and arms. I also want to eventually have a flat tummy. I have a bit of stubborn belly fat on my lower belly. Can I build muscle on maintenance calories beyond the first year of recomp? Or are bulk and cut cycles more appropriate for these goals?

Fat intake
How much fat is needed for hormones to function? I tend to eat a bit more carb heavy than fat heavy. I'm good with getting in enough protein. I just want to make sure I'm getting enough fat in each day. TIA.
