Hynotherapy for weight loss ?
I have pretty much always battled (on and off) with my weight - I've always been "chunky" - my weight has fluctuated from a size 12 and 11 1/2 stone - to a size 18 (UK) and 15 stone. I've lost 3-4 stone a couple of times in the last 15 years - but I end up yo-yo dieting and never keep the weight off for more than a year or…

Uploading using HRM - Polar FT4M
Hi there, Anyone know how to upload onto polarpersonaltrainer.com - I understand you can either manually update the site or upload from watch - does that depend on the model ? I suspect mine is fairly bottom of the range to be honest. Wondered if this was a function - the help book with my HRM wsn't very helpful, and…

Lunch ideas ??
I'm feeling uninspirational.... I'm away this weekend, including an evening meal tonight, so I want something "good" for my lunch today from the deli sandwich bar at work (they make sandwiches fresh, with whatever filling you like) Any suggestions - thinking tuna, prawns or chicken/turkey ?? I'm liking the idea of rocket…

Creamy sauces - surely not allowed, or are they !? :-)
I like creamy sauces on pasta, or on chicken etc - but always steer clear when trying to be good. BUT.... try creme fraiche! A fraction of the calories of buttery or creamy sauces - I use that on pasta, you don't need a lot stirred through cooked pasta. I add a a tablespoon of sweet thai chilli sauce and either some…

Caffeine withdrawal headaches ??
Am I the only one suffering with this ? I didn't consider myself a bit coffee drinker, I would only drink lattes (one morning, one afternoon), but I was a diet coke fiend - drinking as much as 3-4 cans per day. Now I've cut down on lattes, often not bothering at all, but at most 1 per day. And as I'm drinking my 2litres of…

HRM Polar FT4M - Bought one!
Right... I bit the bullet and ordered myself one from Amazon (the Polar one that I've seen so many people recommend). So.. I am now wondering if this is going to be easy to set-up and use. Can anyone run me through 1) what I need to do (in layman's terms, as I will have the techie advice on the instruction sheet I'm sure,…

Elliptical Trainer in the gym - when the stats don't match
Anyone found that the site doesn't match what the CV machine tells ya ?? Now I know sometimes these machines dont allow for weight and age. But also that this site doesn't allow for different programme settings - just "elliptical trainer". So my question.. I did 30mins on the elliptical trainer, on a random hilly program…

Fella and I on here together...
So I am allowed 1200 cals, and he's allowed almost double that. We are both doing well going to the gym most work days (mon-fri) - well at least 3-4 times per week anyway. My question is, as he is being really supportive, he is eating pretty much what I am. So lots of healthy things - lots of veg, chicken, fish, lower cal…

"Cross Trainer" ?
Hi there, Does anyone else work out on a cross trainer ? If so, how do you log the cals ? It's not on the pull down list of cardio exercises. So I'm stuck! Anyone ? Thanks, Mel

Check-in/Weigh-in..
Hi, I usually weigh in once per week, been dieting on and off for a while, joined MFP 10 days ago. My 1st weigh in didn't go as well as hoped only 1lb off, but now after 10 days (I weigh in on a Saturday usually) I weighed in this morning (and I try not to midweek HONEST, and leave it to just once per week) and I've lost…

"cup of" = ????
So... being from the UK, I need some clarification as to the measurement "a cup of" ?? A cup of strawberries, raw = 49 cals What's a cup ?? How big is "this cup" ? a teacup or a mug ?? How many strawberries would you guess made "a cup" ?? Just to give me an idea...(i know it depends on the size of strawberry etc etc)...…

Ideas for tonight's tea... lacking ideas !?!?
Hi all, Right I've a monster jacket potato.. :) AND I've some salad - but need something to make it slightly less "diet-y" - any ideas ? If I have nothing else, I'm also quite a long way under my calories for today. PS - Also another question, am I allowed to carry over or save up cals for another day ? Reason I ask, I…

Indian Restaurant tonight..... help!
Right... out tonight for my nephew's birthday - what can I have to eat ? I'm driving so don't need to worry about wine (!)..... :) I'm thinking something drier (like a sizzler dish/stirfry rather than a creamy curry sauce) - happy to stir clear of rice, but opt for some veggies. Any thoughts ? I am partial to poppadums,…

Weights vs Cardio Vascular workouts
Hi there, So following a number of discussions (read rows!) with my other half who is quite the advocate of weight training - I have always preferred a "sweatier" workout, and feel I'm working harder if I'm out of breath etc. So I tend to stick to CV work, with a bit of weights at the end (mainly squats and lunges, and a…
