Creamy sauces - surely not allowed, or are they !? :-)

I like creamy sauces on pasta, or on chicken etc - but always steer clear when trying to be good. BUT.... try creme fraiche! A fraction of the calories of buttery or creamy sauces - I use that on pasta, you don't need a lot stirred through cooked pasta.

I add a a tablespoon of sweet thai chilli sauce and either some chicken or prawns or smoked salmon is really good. And quick too. Done!

Feels wonderfully indulgent, without MASSES of cals. :-)

My other half loves it with extra chilli flakes in it.

Sometimes I add onion, crunchy pepper and any leftover veg to eat up (like mangetout or babycorn etc). It's yummy!

Ragu makes a reduced fat/sodium alfredo that's pretty good in a pinch. I also like Ken's reduced fat creamy caesar on pasta with a little parmesan, it's a great substitute. :) and I LOVE chili sauce. lol.

Sorry - what is Alfredo ? Is that a bit like Carbonara ? I'm from the UK

I like the Tesco Light Choice caesar salad dressing - it's great as a substitute for mayo or salad cream. :)

Oh and I buy salsa dip in jars (that's great on anything) - as it's basically tomatoes with chilli - so hardly any cals - i put it on chicken wraps with a sprinkling of grated cheese. Mmmm....

I too love creamy sauces on pasta! I have found that a good dollop of low fat cream cheese works really well, stirred into hot pasta mixed with lots of steamed veg and your protein of choice. Melts into a decent sauce all by itself. Sainsbury's and Tesco both do generic own brand ones which are cheap and perfectly fine for the purpose.

And the great thing is, they come in different flavours, so when I am really busy and don't have time to chop up garlic and so on, the herb and garlic flavour one comes in handy for example. A really easy meal, and very low calorie plus very filling, especially if you use whole wheat pasta.

Of course - didn't think of Philadelphia Cream Cheese. Seen an advert on TV, and they're stirring it through pasta and I thought at the time.. Mmmm... but then forgot about it.

Cool - thanks for these. :-)

Its a white sauce, with parmesan. Common in (Americanized) Italian cooking

Yes! The Philly Cooking Cream sauces. They're yummy, low cal and a little goes a long way. I like mixing the santa fe with ground chicken and salsa. With or without pasta.
