"Go-Anywhere, Do-Anything Bicycle"
I want to get a "go anywhere - do anything" bicycle, but I'm not sure what to get. I'll be using it for commuting and touring, year-round, and on any surface I may come across. I'm thinking fat tire bike, but I'm not certain if that would be a good choice. It would be great in the snow, on ice, on mud or sand, but slow…

Tube Replacement Tip
Tip for my cycling friends: When replacing a tube, coat the tube with a thin layer of baby powder before putting it into the tire. This will help the tube as it inevitably twists and moves around in the tire and will prevent pinch flats.

Maximum Speed: Bicycle
For the cyclists out there: What's the fastest you've ever gone? Back in my hay-days, I have hit 56 kmph on dirt, riding my lightweight single speed hardtail, while riding over large stones and rooted dirt. That's 35 mph for those who use old schoo lmeasurement. On pavement, I hit 70 kmph (44 mph) on my grandfather's old…

Golfing On The Cheap
Hey MFP World. Last Friday, I went to my second annual company golf tournament. I had a blast, and with a couple of little tips from my team mates, I was doing extremely well (for someone who really had no idea what he was doing). I drove as far as the guy who won last year, and I saved our teams butt a few times. We…

Inexpensive Protein Suggestions?
I'm looking to alternative ways to add more protein into my diet. I'm currently adding a breast and a half of chicken every day to hit my macros, and it's proving to be quite expensive. I'm hoping to find a less expensive alternative to chicken. Now, here's the kicker: I have a lot of food sensitivities. I cannot have any…

Minimalist Shoes
Who here wears minimalist shoes for whatever they do? Running, walking, everyday activities? About 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with patela femeral syndrome from cycling. Those who get too big for their pants...
"Lexophile" is a word used to describe those that have a love for words, such as "you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish," or "to write with a broken pencil is pointless." A competition to see who can come up with the best lexphillies is held every year in an undisclosed location. This year's winning submission is…
