Loss while on two medications that "cause weight gain"
Hello friends! I'm a nurse (so close to being a NP!) and I am on two medications that "cause" weight gain - effexor and the depo shot. Sorry, but you can't place the blame on medications like these. I will agree that they certainly do not help cravings and water gain is a possibility but the food you put in your mouth is…

Anyone do Crossfit??
I was following "The New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women" but after 5 months wasn't getting a lot of results and it was getting too easy. Plus my work out partner is moving away so I knew i needed more. Does anyone else do crossfit? I have done one class now and I thought I was going to die. How often do you do it? Do…

NROL and calories
What are you all doing for daily calories? The book recommends that I eat around 1800 and 2000 so I've just been trying to eat more but I know i need to keep track of it. I've gained a couple of pounds and I am trying not to let it get to me. I'd really like to know what everyone else is doing. Thanks!

slow progress is still progress! (stomach pictures)
Highest weight before coming on MFP was 170. I felt gross and hid my body. With the help of MFP, I've lost 17 pounds and then I discovered WEIGHT LIFTING. It's the new love of my life, my friend and I are using The new rules of lifting for women and we never miss a day. I've gone up a few pounds but I know I am losing…

weight lifting and calories help
So my friend and I started weight lifting using "The new Rules of Lifting for Women" three times a week. I really love it so far and I can see a difference in how i look and feel even if my weight isn't changing. My question though is how many calories I should eat. I still want to lose 10 pounds but want to do it while…

Vacation advice/help
Hi! I've been doing great on here but I know it's mostly due to my control of my food and my ability to exercise everyday. on Thursday, my fiance and I are going to his family's house on the east coast where everything will be out of my control. Won't really have a say in the food and would never want to hurt their…

pain!
Does anyone get super sore? My right arm is killing me because that's the one they usually want you to swing around as well as my ankle from jumping around! I'm not even that old so this is kind of sad. I was planning on stretching for a few minutes before doing it because I really don't want to have to skip a day. Any…

NSV
So I hung out with a high school friend when I was just barely starting myfitnesspal. We are both getting married soon but I told her I was putting off dress shopping until I dropped weight. Fast forward to last night, over a month later when we hung out again and she asked about dress shopping and I reminded her I am…

Calculating Calories burned from HRM
Hello! So I bought a Timex HRM in order to really figure out what I am burning while exercising. I've looked around on the internet and it seems like there is an equation calories burned = (0.2017 x age in years + 0.09036 x weight in pounds + 0.6309 x average heart rate - 55.0969) x elapsed time / 4.184. Is this how you…

wii scale off?
So I was really trying to avoid buying a scale but i may need to. Last night my wii said I weighed 157.7 pounds and this morning it said 149. I redid it 3 times but it was always around that. As much as I would like that to be possible, I know better. Has anyone had this happen to them? I'm pretty disappointed.

New friends?
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could use some support and be able to return it. This is my first time really trying to lose weight and it's harder than I thought especially because my fiance is super skinny and can eat whatever he wants. Everyone on here is a huge inspiration.:drinker:
