Calculating Calories burned from HRM

Hello! So I bought a Timex HRM in order to really figure out what I am burning while exercising. I've looked around on the internet and it seems like there is an equation
calories burned = (0.2017 x age in years + 0.09036 x weight in pounds + 0.6309 x average heart rate - 55.0969) x elapsed time / 4.184.
Is this how you all calculate it or am I missing something? Too bad it doesn't just figure it out for you.

Darn it, guess I should have done more research. Really didn't want to pay too much money though.0
