Looking for an accountability buddy for not binge eating
Hi all I have a long history with weight fluctuation and binge eating. For the last few years, I've done a good job of staying in a healthy weight range and keeping binges to a minimum. However, right now I'm really struggling. I recently moved and started a new job. I also now live way closer to stores and restaurants. I…

Loose skin / toning
So. I've noticed that losing all this weight in my 30's has left saggier/floppier skin than when I lost in my 20's. Of course it is in part from aging, and also from the up and down fluctuation all my life. But I'm feeling the 'Yuck' more this time when I see the stretch marks, sagging, flopping, etc. Is it truly possible…

WALKING GROUP - totals due Monday 2 Feb
Okay, here's the thread for my walking group/buddies. Sorry, I have been AWOL. I had some really dark days. But I'm back. We'll start checking in with totals - minutes, miles, or calories burned, whatever you prefer -- on Mondays. So far I've walked 40 min this week. Not a lot, but a good start. Hope everyone is getting…

walking challenge anyone?
I was thinking of starting a walking challenge to motivate myself. I used to walk a lot and have tried over and over to start the habit again but can't seem to do it. Competition often helps me ... So I was thinking of doing a challenge of 3 hours a week or around 9 miles. Does anyone want to join me?

anyone else work at home?
I have been self-employed off and on for 11 years. I am currently a self-employed writer and crafter. I love being my own boss, MOST OF THE TIME ... The problem is, it's difficult to motivate yourself. Also, working at home means working next to the kitchen, damn it. Does anyone else find this hard? Rarrrrrr ...

Appetite suppressants anyone?
I was wondering if anyone uses any appetite suppressants, and what ones they find most helpful? I'm not just talking about tea or herbal supplements. I mean anything that works for YOU. For me, it's not to stop me being hungry, but really to either give my teeth/mouth some taste satisfaction even when I'm not hungry, or to…

bra sizing
okay, so I wasn't sure where this fit, so I put it here. I had a bra fitting a while back and I'm usually absolutely thrilled to finally be wearing bras that fit right. However, has anyone else noticed a difference between non-padded and padded bras? I wear a 36 DD but when I put on a lightly padded t-shirt bra in the same…

Fruit tip - wish I'd realized this sooner!!
Okay, I don't know why it never occurred to me til today, since I weigh everything else, but ... WEIGH YOUR FRUIT, PEOPLE. Don't just guess. I weighed a nectarine today, and it is 20 calories less than I usually put in. The pear was nearly half what I put in. It makes a difference! What you think of as a "small" pear may…

quitting sugar
Okay, I've been dragging my feet about this for a long time ... I go back and forth. Thinking about quitting sugar totally. Like all added sugar. Fruit and such are ok, obviously. My mom has diabetes now and I am so scared of that eventually happening to me. 90% of my binges are comprised of high sugar foods. Every now and…

high cholesterol
Hi there. I have high cholesterol. It's a thing. I'm 32. The main reason is because I have an eating disorder. I'm a vegetarian and my good cholesterol is very high too, which is awesome, but my bad cholesterol is too high. SOOOOO I know exactly what is causing this. Chocolate. Chips. Cookies. Brownies. Ice cream. What got…

going vegetarian in 2013
Anyone else turning veggie for 2013? :) This is something I have thought about for a long time, and finally decided to take the plunge. Dont nesc. think meat is wrong-- still not sure exactly what I think -- but I do think it's sad, and no longer for me.
