It says to have 1680 calories/day but when do i change that? do i stick to that until i hit my goal or do i change it as i lose weight?

Hi, im Kate, i never had a problem with weight until i had my son, now i feel like this weight will never come off. im 30 and i am just fed up with feeling like this, i have already lost 20lbs, i would like to lose 50 more. I hired a trainer and i am going to the gym 4-5 days/week. any tips or advice are most appreciated.
