The Rest of the Story?
Often the Chit Chat forum is used as a place to seek advice, for variety of personal issues. Lengthy debates have ensued regarding these matters, whether they be trivial or major life decisions. Sometimes we hear the final outcome, but many times we are left to wonder what happened. All of these unresolved issues are…

Assembly language, anyone?
I'll probably start poking around once I get to work, but figured it might be a good question for here. I don't know jack about assembly language, and want to find a good introductory book or primer. If it ties into Windows internals and system calls, then even better. Does anyone have suggestions?

Do you wear a hat indoors?
So, at work they recently changed the dress code. They now allow us to wear a hat while at work. I've noticed that a few of my co-workers are now wearing baseball caps and such inside. Even though I am used to a somewhat casual atmosphere at an Internet/Technology company, it still seems strange to see people wearing hats…

Group Direction?
Hello everyone, It appears that I am the administrator of the group for the time being. I'm not sure what is going on, but it seems that only a few people have kept interest in it so far. Is it just the time of year, and being busy with holiday events? Is there something we should change about how the books are selected?…

Good Spotify Apps?
I've only recently started using Spotify. Of the apps available for it, are there any which you find to be particularly good? I'm about to load up the last.fm one, simply because I have used that site for quite a while.

Stupid gripe of the day
Why do some people do the following in a linux shell? cat foo.txt | awk '{print $1}' When you can just do... awk '{print $1}' foo.txt Yeah, silly, but it always irks me for some reason. Anyone else have similar things which bug them? :)

Armband for Galaxy S 4G?
I'm thinking it might be time to start listening to some music during my morning runs. I have a small mp3 player, but it might be more practical to just use my phone, since I finally have a "smart" one that could use apps such as endomondo.. Does anyone have recommendations for a good armband for the Galaxy S 4G? So far…

Online Bookshelves
I've just started trying to actively use some of the online bookshelves, with the hopes of finding some good choices for getting back into reading for pleasure. I'm a big science fiction fan, but also like some horror and fantasy; open to other genres (well, probably not any romance). I am especially interested in good…

Good Poe Ebook?
Hello, I've been recently struck with an urge to reread the stories of Edgar Allan Poe. For now I would like to get an ebook version. Total Recall
I think I'll go see the remake tomorrow. Anyone else planning on seeing it? I remember the special effects seeming very dated the last time I watched version with Schwarzenegger.
