Hi all! Let's start a new 30/30 hooping challenge. The idea is to hoop at least 30 minutes a day!! The last one kind of fizzled out. I'll post a thread for reporting daily. Thanks! Ashley (peace_frog21)

Tip 1 to maximize your hoop workout
If you are doing a lot of waist hooping, remember to keep your arms engaged!! Either by holding them up straight out to your side (in a wingspan) or above your head like a ballerina might. Also, remember to work in both currents. I like to do this by spending a couple minutes hooping to the left and then a couple to the…

Day 2 -- Oct 9 -- Report
Man, I KILLED it today. I'm pretty sure I created a hoop fitness class in my kitchen. Try pendulum lunges and squats while core hooping, and leg lifts while passing under the leg. Knee raises with breaks. Lots of dominant and alternant current of course. Don't want one side to be looking sexier than the other :-) I ended…

Day 1 -- Oct 8 -- Report
I did my 30 around 5:00pm! Pulled out a huge bruiser hoop and did a lot of core for 20 minutes. Dominant and Alternant. Moving from hips to waist to chest and back. And these nasty leg lift things. And then I left the last 10 mins for jamming (which turned into 20 minutes so yay!) I feel better already. Soundtrack for the…

I was on the news today!! NSV
I was on the news today to talk about the competition I am in: Hooping Idol (an international online video based competition) in which I have made it into the Top 3 and I'm the only American in the competition! But on top of that I got to talk about how I lost 60lbs with hooping. It was definitely a NSV and felt pretty…

Hooping Idol
Hi all!! Hooping has been a HUGE part of my weight loss journey (I wouldn't have lost the 60lbs I'm closing in on without it), and I have had the CRAZY AMAZING opportunity to be a part of Hooping Idol sponsored by Hooping.org this year. I have made it into the TOP 3 and am the only American left in the competition! It…

Question for those who cook with meat substitutes!
I have been craving tacos lately. The homemade kind like only I can make for myself. But, I have been attempting to stay on a mostly vegetarian although occasionally pescatarian diet (i love sushi too much to give it up). But I'm definitely not eating red meat. I could use turkey, but I'd rather not. And I've never cooked…

Plateaus....how did you get over them?
I have been at a plateau since November. Granted, I didn't gain anything during the holidays but I am really sick of seeing 215-217 on the scale. If you've hit a plateau, for how long and how did you overcome it?

Am I eating enough calories?
Hi all! I changed my diet over a year ago and have lost 50lbs since then without much exercise. I've been at the same weight (215) since about November. I've been exercising more and I work an extremely active job (I wait tables, run around like crazy, carry heavy trays, etc), but I haven't really been eating more. I've…
