Working it out for myself...note to self:
June 17, 2013 A note to, and reflection of myself. Encouragement and butt-kicking needed :) You cannot be trusted. You cannot be trusted to not log your food. You cannot be trusted to have cupcakes or any other such temptations in the house. You cannot be trusted to not use the scale to weigh out your food. you cannot be…

Stepping out of my comfort zone
That second mile is a bear! I've been running a mile for over a year, and I've been trying to get my daughter doing it too. Thing is, she drags her feet and complains the whole way, and its all very excruciating for both of us I decided last week that I'd start going an extra mile by myself after our jog to recollect my…

Measuring! Now that makes sense!
I never did measure when I started on MFP in January 2012, so I made that my goal for 2013...measure monthly! I'm SO glad I did! I did lose the holiday weight I put on (8 lbs!) which I was too frustrated about to reflect in my weigh-ins, but even better, I LOST 5.5 INCHES in January! I've been working out very…

When did you realize you were a (dun dun dun...) runner?
Ok, so I'm not so much a runner as a "jalker" :) My pace is slow at an average of 12-1/2 to 13-1/2 min/mile, and the furthest I've gone without a little bit of a walk is 1-1/2 miles. BUT, I find myself getting dressed to jog in the freaking freezing weather (21 F), and today, with it being mid-fifties and raining out after…

When 35 down doesn't seem like so much...
A couple of pictures can set your mind right! These two pictures were taken almost exactly one year apart. I don't know about others who have a LOT to lose, but 35 doesn't seem like much. When I look in the mirror, I see the same me I did a year ago. And sometimes it's hard to see how far I've come when there's still so…

30 pounds down...a different type of photo!
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f123/ckwierant/P1110597_zps820771fa.jpg To mark my 30-pound loss, I gathered up items that totalled 30 pounds to take a picture to post on my fridge. Those items included a 1-pound carton of strawberries, 1 pound of butter sticks, a 3-pound container of cottage cheese, a 3-pound container…

Jogging to a friend's house!
I had a meeting at a friend's house yesterday. She lives about a mile away (1.36 to be exact). How do I know? Instead of hopping in the car, I jogged there and walked home! That's definitely something I'd never have thought to do, like ever ever ever, prior to getting in better shape for my black belt test!

First non-stop mile!
I wanted to post this on TV! LOL I've been working on trying to do a 1-mile run in under 11 minutes (it's a requirement for our black belt test in just 2-1/2 weeks). I was FINALLY able to jog one whole mile without stopping to walk at all, for the firs time, last week! It was slow, only 14MPH, but it's ok. I know I won't…

How to get to an 11-minute mile?!?
So I have my black belt test coming up in August. I train in Tang Soo Do karate 2-3 times a week, I take a "boot camp" 1 hour a week, yoga 1x a week, and get in 3-4 "jalks" a week. I say "jalk" because I'm not up toJOGGING a mile yet. It's a jog/walk. I've been working on it for about a month and I am getting better but it…

NSV for me!
I went on a field trip with my son's class today. I didn't have to walk sideways to get down the aisle :)

Changing your starting weight?
Hello! I've been here for 20 or so days, faithfully logging food and exercise...LOVE IT! My question is, what do you all think about going BACK in time, befire I actually started MFP, and adding in weights I have documented in the past...I ask because I have personally lost slightly more than what is shown on my ticker. Do…

WHere does the skin go?
For those of you who have been successful at losing a lot of weight (CONGRATULATIONS, by the way)...where does the excess skin go? I'm curious only because I have a long-term goal of over 100 pounds to lose. I've had two c-sections, and I have a feeling I will just always have that part of my skin with me that is currently…
