is a calorie just a calorie?
Are all calories treated the same or does the type of food matter with weight loss? For example, I struggle to get to 2,100 calories per day. I might eat a corn muffin in order to add on an extra 200 calories. Should I be eating something "healthier" or does it not matter where the calorie comes from? Besides obviously the…

new Dunkin Donuts turkey sausage sandwich "under 400"
Hi, I ate one of these this morning (it was VERY good!) and it is advertised as "under 400 calories" but I can't find nutrition info for it. DD's website has the sandwich but no info. Any idea how to count this It is an egg white, cheddar cheese slice, turkey sausage and English muffin. I wish I knew the amount of carbs.

I heard you can help!
Hi Everyone, I'm ready to join the eat more to weigh less crowd. I've been on MFP for almost a year now and lost 34 pounds in 2012, then gained back 13 in the past 3 months. I never fully understood how many calories I should eat, and ended up in a plateau I couldn't get out of. Can you help me figure this out? Here is…

Triglycerides - up and down, what about alcohol?
Hi Everyone! I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I"m wondering if anyone has had this experience. I had my lipid panel done today (I do this yearly) and my triglycerides are 340 - in the past 5 years they have been 289, 166, 285, 117 (last year) and now 340. All of my other cholesterol levels and blood…

created a deficit but it's below BMR
Hi, Here are my numbers, and if I knock off 1,000 for 2 pounds per week I would be below my BMR. From what I understand I should not eat below my BMR. BMR is 1727 TDEE is 2413 (I used 1.55) I walk at 3.5 mph for 45 minutes 7 days per week and burn on average 350 per day. If I take 1,000 off my TDEE then my net would be…

MFP calorie calculator and BMR
Hi, MFP has calculated my calories at 1330 per day (for a loss of 2 pounds per week) but I notice when I eat 1330 calories per day I either maintain or gain. Does their calculator take BMR into consideration? I used a BMR calculator and when adding my activity as moderate my calories are 2595. I adjusted my calories in MFP…
