Snatch and Komodo Dragon Crawls
I'm new to crossfit and our workout today included komodo dragon crawls during the warmup and snatch complexes in both sessions (if anyone cares to educate me on the what each session is really called, much appreciated). Well as a newbie, I did scale down, but still these two clearly highlighted all of my mobility issues…

Thoughts on the New FAA Guideline
Saw where the FAA is setting a guideline that pilots must be below a 30 BMI or they are subject to additional medical scrutiny. At 19.8% body fat, I'm over a 30 BMI. Thoughts?

Why High Fat?
I've been trying to reconcile a disconnect I have with Paleo eating. Most paleo eaters seem to also believe that their diet should be heavy fat. Where did this come from? If you've ever eaten wild game, which is what would have been available to our ancestors, you'll know that it is very lean meat. It took domestication…

Front Squats
I've added front squats to my leg routine. I'm really struggling with placement of the weight (wrist back, elbows up). That is a limiting factor on my lifts. I want to do it in a strict form (not cross armed). Any tips?

Grass Fed Cows, ? Fed Chickens
Was reading a story about a chicken ranch/farm and they indicated they have no-GMO, no-soy feed beyond what the chickens would eat around (bugs, etc.). What should we expect our chickens to eat to be as healthy as possible?

Okay, the subject was my rant. So sick of all the weight focus. Are you fit? How do you define fitness? Are you scale obsessed?

A Paleo Dating Site?
http://www.paleoconnect.com/about_us.php I heard about this from a podcast I was listening to. Are you on this site? Would you? I'm currently engaged, so doesn't apply to me. But just thought it was interesting that they would segment a dating site by eating approach. Even if I weren't engaged, I don't think I'd use this…

NSV
Non-scale victory thread: I buy dress shirts from a company in London. They are the best looking, best cut shirts I've ever bought (yes, I wear a suit and tie to work four days of the week). The only issue I've had with them is the neck size (17 1/2 is the largest) has always been, at best, snug. And I usually leave the…

New Favorite Paleo Snack
Just got an order of Steve's Original Paleo Stix. Grass fed beef, spinach, moderate sodium (low for a jerky snack). A clean, meat taste. These and the tuna pouches (family size) will make it much easier to stay on track when I travel!

Men's Challenge for June
This worked pretty good for me for May, so I'm doing another one. I know it's already the 4th, but hey, we got this! 1) Lose 10 lbs (weight of 207.2 lbs). Note: my previous multi-year low was 212. 2) Log 60 miles walking and/or jogging (beach walks earn double miles). 3) Log at least 10 weight training sessions. What you…

June 7 - 21
Looks like everybody was out last week... HW 252 SW: 236 CW: 216.4 GW: 190 Only lost .8 lbs, but that is good considering I was up over two pounds when I stepped on the scale my first day back from a business trip. That was the worst, long days, no access to a gym, no 'safe' areas available to walk or run, late night…

Lesson from the field - not getting calories
I've been traveling the past few days, so I've had my meals at sporadic times and to stick to primal/paleo, I struggled to get in enough calories. After three days of what was probably sub-1200 calories, I went on a complete binge (beer and ice cream). I've been "chew your arm off" hungry, but this was "if brains were made…

The Weekly Male Stop (4/6 - 4/12)
I had a decent week eating-wise. I spent the weekend on a juice cleanse (I know, not too manly, but I do at least one per year). I'm trying to taper down my eating so I won't blow it when I'm down recovering from surgery in May. My workouts are going good, slowly improving my cardiovascular (intensity and duration). I can…
