Hi everyone I started Paleo on Monday, so only 3 days in. Feeling good so far and lots of energy which is good. My main issue will be finding different lunches to have at work - I can see I will get bored with salads each day. We don't have access to rings or an oven - but we do have a small microwave. I'm trying Paleo for…

I've waved the white flag!
I have officially caved. After spending some four years eating between 800-1200 calories per day including exercise, I joined EM2WL earlier this year and increased my allowance to a massive (that's what it felt like!) 1500 NET per day, which meant on exercise days I would be eating 2,000 calories or more. But my body just…

Rookie question
From a 4 year VLCD, I have been upping my calories and have been trying to aim for 1500 Net, to make sure I eat back all my exercise calories which for four years I rarely did and got onto a year long plateau. Can you tell me whether I should be looking at my NET or total calories? I'm 54 66 inches 179 pounds I do 5-6…

Question....
I'm having a problem in working this out.... If my TDEE is 2,301 and I deduct 15% = 1,956 which I eat as calories and ignore eating back my exercise calories. So far, so good. I've been eating (or trying to eat) 1500 NET which, on exercise days, means I'm "actually" eating 2,000 odd calories in order to get my NET back up…

Could this be it?
I started EMTWL at the beginning of April after four years of 800-1000 calories per day. I have been eating 1800-2200 calories per day (netting about 1500-1600 after exercise) and discovered an appetite I haven't felt in years. Last week was scary where I gained 4 pounds and was seriously wondering whether I was doing the…

Most accurate TDEE calculator
I've been using Scoobyworkshop to calculate my TDEE and notice how low they are. MFP calculates my BMR as 1428. Scoobyworkshop calculates it as 1052. It gives me a TDEE of 1630. And to lose 15% fat (0.5 pounds per week) I should eat 1386 including my 3-5 exercise sessions. I have a sedentary desk job, but I exercise 5…

A new member to the group!
Evening everyone! I've been logging on MFP since 1st January and I'm currently enduring a metabolism repair having spent 4 years on 800-1000 calories and suffering a 12 month stall. I'm on week 6 and so far, it's slow progress, but I have faith.

If 1500 NET per day feels like this...
... Firstly the stats: Age: 53 Exercise: 5-6 hours per week which is made up of running, power walking, HIIT Height: 5'6" Current weight: 179 pounds Goal: to lose 14 pounds Plan: BMR: 1484 (scoobyworkshop.com) TDEE: 2300 Daily calories to goal: 2048 Background: I've spent past 4 years on weightloss website eating 800-1100…

All in the mind?
So far, I've managed to lose a pound a week since increasing my calories from 1200 to 1500 (my BMR is 1429), so all well and good. But who else feels really "fat" some days? Almost bloated. I'm not sure whether I should lower the calories again...this "feeling" won't go - even before I've eaten. When I first started, it…

A new member to the Group!
Hi everyone, After eating an average of 900-1100 daily calories for four years, my weight loss was slow to the point of stalling about a year ago. Ever since, I have lost/gained the same 2-3 pounds for the last 12 months. On the plus side I've dropped from over 233 pounds to my current 177 pounds and have also dropped 5…

A calorie is a calorie is a calorie?
I've gone from a size 22 to size 12, having worked hard at counting calories and exercising hard since November 2007. I became lazy at counting last October and gained about 10 pounds which I've been trying so hard to lose, but all I end up doing is losing the same three pounds. My basic allowance is 1280 calories and I…
