Can someone look at my gym routine? **Advice/Tips Welcome**
So I've decided to incorporate some new things into my work out routine. I don't do a lot of cardio so I want to make sure that what I DO have is safe and efficient. Here it is: Week one: Monday- Upper body lifting Tuesday- Kettlebell training Wednesday- Lower Body lifting Thursday- Kettlebell Friday- Upper Saturday-…

Are some weighted squats better than others?
I've slowly been getting back in the swing of squatting as a rehabilitate my ankle. I'm happy about it. However, I have difficulty going into deep squats with my feet hip width apart. If I space them out further, I can get into a nice deep squat. I guess I'm asking if that's okay. Can I injury myself using a wider stance?…

Eating "clean" for so long, I can't eat "junk?"
I was eating at my friend's and the had some fatty foods, I guess. I ate a few cheese fries and I felt like I was going to puke. A few days ago, I ate some cookies (like 3) and I felt sick then, too. Is my body just going to reject everything that is deemed "unhealthy" now?

This is why I don't like scales
Stepped on the scale...It said I was at 198. 3 factors that probably played into this: 1) I've had A LOT of sodium lately, 2) TOM, and 3) I lift. A lot. So to this scale, I say: **** YOU. I'm 2 sizes smaller at 198 than I was at 194 so I'm not gonna let it get to me. I'm a size 12. At 194, I was a 14/16. So there. Stupid…

Which kettlebell exercises are best to blast fat?
I'm trying to cut fat and I was convinced that kettle bells (paired with my current lifting routine) and a clean diet (maybe a FEW minimum slip ups, but I've vegetarian so I eat pretty well regardless) would be the best way to do that. I eat a little under my TDEE (-20%) and lift 3 times a week and bike on my off days.…

Vegetarian who needs more protein?
Hello :D Uhm, I'm a vegetarian and well, like I said, I need more protein. I know all the natural proteins like nuts, tofu, soy, etc and I'm not sure how many vegetarians are actually on this site, but I guess I want to know how effective protein powder is. I don't need it just for lifting, but for everyday purposes, too.…

Squatting with a stiff ankle due to sprain?
I sprained my ankle about 2 months ago and it isn't healed yet. It's still pretty stiff when I flex it and I can't go into a deep squat. I can go about 90 degrees but no further. I CAN leg press and use the hack squat machine, though. So should I just stick to that? Also, what are some rehabilitation techniques? (: Thanks

Best way to stretch an ankle?
I sprained my ankle about 2 months ago and it still isn't fully healed yet. There is still a fair amount of limited mobility in it and I want to stretch it out. I had an MRI yesterday and I'm waiting to hear back, but for now, I think I need to work it out, especially because I want to get back to squatting freely soon :P…

Need help hitting macros?
I've got them all figured out and what not, now I just need help actually meeting them. I'll eat throughout the day as one should, but I find it hard to get the right amount or protein/fat/carb (and sugars- sometimes I go overboard without noticing). I'm a vegetarian, so I'm going to buy some more protein dense staples…

Heavy Lifting or Kettlebells? Which is "better?"
I've been a conscious lifter for a while now but someone recommended I use kettlebells to see the results I want...So, which is better? I like lifting, but I haven't seen my results yet. However, I know it takes a while, too.

Down 10 (or 5?) pant sizes! I owe this booty to squats
I'm going to start off saying, I'm 18 and I've NEVER been this small. I went into 6th grade at age 12 in a size 18 womens. I topped off in size 22s, but got down into some tight 20s. Now I'm an average size. I am now a size 12. I even bought my first pair of clothing from H&M. I love H&M, but I could never fit their…

Is biking/cycling effective?
I got a bike for college (so excited) and I've taken up cycling more in addition to lifting because I have a kind of bum ankle. My question is, well, IS biking effective for fat loss? I guess I'd be more focused on HIIT biking on the days I don't lift (or I'd swim) and obviously in college, that and walking would be my…

Ladies lifting results?
Yup, just wanting to see some motivation and inspiration, really. I've been lifting for a while and personally, I don't see a difference, but I also haven't taken pictures or measured recently. But may I see some of your results?

Can you lose BF monthly?
I just a question. Realistically speaking, if my diet was pretty awesome (maybe a casual slip up, I suppose, but generally clean), would it be realistic to see a lose of 1% body fat a week or at least 3% a month? I know it would slow down the closer I got, but I have to get there first and I have a long ways to go :P

How does one lose 30% BF and how long does it take?
Well, I know how one loses BF in general. That is from eating at a deficit (Preferably clean) and lifting. But I guess my general question is, losing 30% bf a realistic and achievable goal? I'm kind of guesstimating my current BF. The last time I checked, I was at 47. My overall goal is to be 18%. I lift 3 times a week and…

Can formerly obese people really get fit/abs?
I ask for my own personal reason. I'm technically still "obese" but blood pressure wise, I'm BELOW average (: I usually range at 76 and my doctor said that means i'm in good shape. That made me happy. But I don't look the part. Will I ever get a lean physique? I don't do cardio but I lift 3x a week and eat at a deficit and…

Assessing (and setting) Macros in MFP
I've worked out my TDEE thing, but how do I go about figuring out the proper macros and setting them in my goals? The whole percent thing on here confuses me. A lot.

Best work out for your butt/lower back when you CAN'T squat?
No, I'm not not squatting by choice. My doctor put me and restrictions, I didn't want to listen so I tried it anyway. I can "squat" but I can't get low enough for it to impact my booty, too. Same with lunges. I CAN use the leg press and hack squat machines, but what do you all suggest I do?

Difference b/w 30 day squat challenge and weighted squats
Obviously they both work, but is one better than the other?

How long does it take to see a change w/lifting? *Average*
Just curious. Like most, I'm totally game for immediate gratification, but I'm not gonna sabotage myself either. I lift 3 times a week and don't do much cardio, though I'm going to start swimming more (hopefully starting today). On AVERAGE how long does it take to see changes regarding lifting? Some say 3 weeks, other say…

ITALIAN RESIDENTS (specifically Rome): VEGETARIAN PLACES?
Yeah so I'm going to Italy next weekend and I'm going to be there for 2 weeks. It's a graduation gift from my grandma. I'm super excited (: But uhm. 2 problems: 1. I don't know Italian 2. I'm a vegetarian I have no idea what I'm suppose to eat so maybe you all can lead me to some insight on the equation? What key words or…

Memorializing your weight lost w/tattoos: What do you want?
I definitely plan to get some tattoos to signify my weight loss. I want to get 2 qutoes: One on my ribs and one on my bicep. The rib one I have decided, but the bicep one I'm still deliberating. Here is the rib piece: From the place I was, to the place I am, to the place I want to be For the mountains I've been climbing…

Losing 30% BF with weights..Possible and if so, how long?
This could be a completely stupid question but! I'm about 50 (I don't know the actual number) percent body fat right now and my goal is 18%. My question is: Eating at a deficit and lifting heavy w/minimal cardio will reduce BF, but on "average" how long would it take? I currently weight 190..something. But I don't believe…

Lower body compound exercises w/injury?
I sprained my ankle pretty badly and I'm slow gaining mobility into it. I have been continuing to work out, but it's all been centralized to upper body work outs.I want to get back into the habit of lower body lifting, so what are some good exercises I can do while I gradually strengthen my ankle?

Lose body fat without cardio?
SO. I absolutely hate cardio, with the exception of swimming. My question is: If I lift heavy 3 times a week and a cardio warm up and a calorie deficit, will I torch body fat? I have about 47% body fat on me at the moment and one day, I will reach my goal os 18%. Not too sure how long it will take, but that's beside the…

Scared to eat more...
Ahoy (: I'm Kassie! Uhm. Well, I've been stalled bouncing around in the 190s so I was told to up my calorie intake. Why not, right? I like food. But..I guess I feel afraid to eat more. It sounds silly, I know. I just don't want my progress to be in vain. I follow the TDEE -20% method, lift 3x a week and do cardio, though I…
