evil evil sodium!
Anyone else feeling like they can't escape sodium in their diet? It is honestly the hardest for me to cut out. Mostly because it's delicious, but it's also hidden in lower calorie and sugar foods. Any good tips/foods in particular to avoid/attract?

what was your wake up call?
Hey guys, just thinking about motivation, and what keeps me going. Personally, it was just stepping on the scale to see it reading 301 pounds, when I hadn't weighed that much in 6 years. I knew I couldn't keep going back down that path. Mine was a very basic, not-super-emotional wake up call, but I'm sure there are some…

Unintended Health Benefits From Losing Weight
Hey! I was just noticing I had this undefined skin condition on my scalp (potentially related to psoriasis) for the last two years, and now that I've made a concerted effort to get healthy, I woke up today to notice it was less irritated, and less swollen than it has been in memory. I'm not sure what it is, as I never had…

too much sugar?
I'm eating 2-3 apples a day, and usually about 1/4 cup of raisins a day, and these are shooting my sugar intake far beyond MFP's daily goal. Should I be concerned?

HIIT vs. Anaerobics
Hello, I was a member of another forum (not health and fitness related) and a member--who was certified as some sort of trainer, not sure which cert he had--and he mentioned that sports like racquetball were considered anaerobic. I had been under the impression it was considered HIIT due to the stop-and-go tempo, jumping…

Former fatty here
Hello! I'm Alex, and I just joined MFP a few days ago (per my log), and just thought I'd share my history and some of my goals to start this thing off. First off, I used to weigh in over 375lbs when I was around 19. That was an estimate, though, because the scales all ended at 350 so the docs all used their best guesses.…
