Healthy fat?
Almost every day, I go over my fat count on MFP. It's mostly due to almond butter at breakfast, hummus at lunch and flaxseed throughout the day. I'm pretty sure these are all "good fats" but should I be concerned? I mean, do I need to cut down even the good fats in my diet, or is this ok?

Pushing through knee pain?
Hi, any runners out there? I've been running for years, but luckily, this is my first experience with knee pain. There's slight pain when I walk or go down stairs, but the real pain starts as soon as I start running and lasts pretty much the duration of the run. It's not excruciating, but it definitely hurts. I've made an…

Sneaking Protein
I realized I really need to up my protein intake so I bought some protein powder. It tastes terrible, but I'm limited to just a few options because it needs to be vegan and gluten free. I've been trying to sneak it into oatmeal, but it still wrecks the taste. Any low-calorie (non artificial sweetener) ideas to help cover…

Protein
I just reviewed my nutrition profile for the past few weeks, and I'm definitely running low on protein. I'm thinking of buying protein powder and adding it to my morning oats. Any suggestions on a good, natural, vegan protein powder? Any suggestions for vegan protein sources throughout the day or does anyone replace meals…

Finally saying hello
Hi! So I've been on MFP for a while now, but I never properly introduced myself. I've posted a few questions to the message boards, but haven't gotten any answers. I'm hoping maybe if I start at square one I'll have more luck. My name is Kate. I'm 24 years old, and after training for my second half marathon in September, I…

Cardio and Strength Training together?
Quick opinion question... does it make a difference if I do my cardio and strength training on the same days or on separate days? I've been pressed for time lately, and am trying to fit in workouts when I can. I'm not really in a position to do cardio and strength training in the same workout session. I don't really like…

Calorie Zig Zagging
Hi, so I really like the idea of calorie zig-zagging. It keeps things interesting for me, and I've heard it's good for weight loss. I was wondering how everyone structures their zig zags. I'm on 1200 calories a day. If there's anyone else out there doing 1200 a day with zig zags I'd love to know how you structure your…

Healthy eats for an unhealthy boyfriend
Hi! I love to cook and would love to cook healthy meals for both myself and my boyfriend but, my boyfriend is a very picky (and unhealthy) eater and would eat fishsticks and french fries every night if he could. He also won't eat anything that has more than 10 ingredients max. Every time I find a healthy recipe that looks…

Surprising benefits!!
So, in case losing the weight isn't enough motivation to eat healthy, I thought I'd share some added benefits I've noticed, that really surprised me. I'm sure I'm not the first person who has noticed these things, but I'm just so pleased. I've always eaten healthy. I'm mostly vegetarian, cook almost all my own meals, and…

Lost 4 pounds my first week, gained 1 pound this week... ple
I'm so confused. MFP "prescribed" 1200 calories for me, but I felt like that was too much. I'm pretty sure that's what I was eating before I started this. So, the first week I ate around 1000 a day, burned around 500 a day without replacing my exercise calories. I felt pretty tired and weak, but at least I was seeing…

Any runners out there?
I hope this problem doesn't sound too crazy because honestly it has baffled me. I never had a weight problem until I started training for my first half marathon. I have run all my life, but up until this summer it has been mainly short distances (5 and 10 ks). I noticed throughout my half marathon training and after the…

The right balance of calories?
So, I think I've finally figured out how to take in the right amount of calories per day, but I 'm concerned I'm not taking in the right balance of calories. I've heard of 40-30-40 and 30-40-40 etc., but does anyone have any suggestions on good websites where you can enter in your food and it will tell you if you're…
