Anyone lose without cardio?
I am scheduled for ankle (ligament/tendon) reconstructive surgery on April 25th. Untl then (and after for a while) - no weight bearing exercise for me. And I can't ride the bike or do the elliptical because of the motion. Which rules out any cardio for me. I've been doing some upper body & ab work and today I did some leg…

Finding myself with less of an appetite
I don't think this is a bad thing necessarily. I am cooking the same sized meals I've been eating and end up throwing some of it away every time. I know I need to eat a certain number of calories each day and I'm really trying to get to that number. Exercising is tough for me right now as I'm in between ankle surgeries…

New exercise DVD
With Tropical Storm Debby thwarting all my plans to get some beach time in while on vacation, I did a new workout DVD today. It's called Skinnylates - it's a Pilates/interval training combo. I absolutely loved it! The instructor is a friend from high school so that's fun for me. But I feel like I got a great workout in…

Easing back into exercise!
Last summer, I stepped in a hole & tore two ligaments and a tendon in my ankle. I recently had surgery to repair everything. My physical therapist released me to ride the stationary bike - no resistance. I rode for 20 minutes on Saturday - at just under a 6 minute mile pace. Today I managed 30 minutes - at just under a 5…

My eyes are bigger than my stomach!
I picked up some southwest stuffed portobellos in the produce section yesterday. Two of them. I thought they would be a perfect dinner (they were 110 calories each). I was only able to finish one. How is this even possible????

Does anyone pre-journal?
I have found that I am most successful when I pre-journal my week of food. This way, I only have to "think" about what I'm going to eat once a week. Every day is so easy as I just follow what's in my journal. Am I alone in this?

Week one success!
I weighed in yesterday and was down 4.5 pounds! I weighed three times because I didn't believe the scale! :-) I have planned this entire week - pre-journaling every day. Cuts down on my "what am I going to eat?" stress and makes things flow so much more smoothly for me. YAY!

Just "discovered" a great pizza crust replacement!
This is probably old news to everyone, but I used a portabello mushroom for the "crust". So delicious and really satisfied my pizza craving! I used tomato sauce, turkey pepperoni & 2% mozzarella cheese. I have a happy belly now!

Any other WW refugees here?
From 2006-2009, I lost over 100 pounds on the WW points program. I had a lot of "life" things happen and have put 50 pounds of that back on. I tried using the new PointsPlus program and just did not have any luck. I had a hard time wrapping my head around it since it was no longer calorie-based. So here I am on MFP and had…

Back again...
I have yo-yo'd with weight loss for the last time. From 2006-2009, I lost over 100 pounds. Since 2010, I have put about 50 of those pounds back on, including 30 since last July when I injured my ankle. I have not been able to exercise since that injury and recently had the first phase of ankle reconstructive surgery. Phase…
