What are you geeking over today?
I've been geeking out over RWBY for a solid while now. I was able to sit down with my bro and watch some of my favorite recent Disney movies since he hadn't seen them (Frozen, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog) so still geeking over that. Also geeking over nature. We've been watching David Attenborough. :) And I'm geeking…

What are you playing today?
So what are you playing today? I'm playing Sanctum 2 with my wifey and daughter, and 7DTD with the whole fam later. :) Correction: We're roleplaying tonight. :D

So I Went Keto
I am LOVING it so far. I lost 5 pounds so easily and I'm eating barely above 1200 calories without being hungry. I said for years that I could NOT do this diet because I hate meat, love veggies and fruit, couldn't give up sodas or sugar, etc... And I finally did it. I kicked caffeine, then soda, then sugar, then bread,…

Feast Days
So how do you handle Feast days? (Sabbats, Esbats, Holidays, etc) Do you give yourself the day off? Try to count anyway? Prepare special meal to avoid the feast part? Or just give yourself a day off but try to keep it sensible? I'm in the latter category. I try to enjoy the feast day because that's part of the celebration…

Bro do you even Yumprint?
I love Yumprint. It's my favorite way to store recipes. It lays out the recipes in a way I enjoy. Easy to use, easy to organize. Anyone else use it? I have many good recipes on it, including my Foxy Chicken Salad that everyone loves. :) Welcome to go follow me and let me know so I can follow you back. I'm here:…

Overestimating Calorie Burn?
So MFP says that at 60 minutes of swimming leisurely I'm burning 870 calories. Swimming moderate: 580 (wtf?) and Swimming vigorous: 1451 ... not only do those numbers not increase in a linear fashion... But... According to sites basing the calorie burns off of heart rate... Getting my heart rate to 150 for 60 minutes...…

What to believe...
Every site says something different about how many calories I should be eating and whether I'm eating too much or too little... Let me lay it on the line. I weigh 319 pounds. I'm 5'7", 27 years old. I want to lose to about 150 pounds. I'm currently marked as sedentary and I log all my exercises. (I am a student and artist.…

Activity Level Help
I am wondering... Since MFP lets you set your activity level to as low as Sedentary, and as I understand it, that changes your calorie level accounting for minor exercise... If I mark Sedentary, is it counting me as 0 activity? If not, what numbers are used for each activity level? Does anyone know? I'm asking because I…

HRM and Swimming?
So I keep seeing I should use an HRM to measure my calorie burn... But my main exercise is swimming. I don't see a lot of waterproof HRMs. Does anyone know of any? And how do other swimmers deal with finding an accurate measure of their burn if HRMs and water don't mix? Thanks.

How do you count this?
How do you count chicken broth used to cook green beans? I drain a can of French Green Beans and put them in a pot and fill half and half with water and low sodium chicken broth for flavor. But we obviously don't consume all that chicken broth. It's mostly strained out. So how do you count it? What amount gets into the…

New 100+ Looking for Friends
So.. I'm new to MFP... I'm loving it so far... I'm really looking to connect with some other people trying to lose similar amounts of weight to me. I'm 27 years old, 314 pounds and looking to lose down to 150 total. I already lost 10 pounds from my 325 starting weight. I have 164 pounds to drop. That's a huge number but I…

Soup, Salad and Sub... right?
I've found a few things that area amazingly filling for the calories. Soups, Salads and Subs. Of course, Soups are good but I'm talking about Soups I LIKE even... like Chunky Soups and such. Those are amazingly low cal. Salads are a no-brainer. But I love them sooo much. Subs are famed because of Jared, but I was looking…

Will I Ever Look Great?
I have been overweight for most of my life. I was a health weight last at about age 14. I'm 27. I slowly gained until 19 and then gained 100 pounds in the course of a year. From there, I slowly staggered upward, fought downward, lost the battle and ultimately I'm 27 and at least 300 pounds. (A weigh-in is due so I can get…

Awkward Introduction
By a socially awkward penguin. Just joined, and am obviously starting a diet and weight-loss regime. I am essentially taking a clue from the diet prescribed after Gastric Bypass and eating 6 small meals per day to get my metabolism going. The calorie tracker here is going to help me figure out what works... I'm determined…
