Calories Dilemma
Hi there, I've hit a plateau. Currently i'm eating around my BMR which is 1650cal (calories just to stay alive). I know from online calculators I should be eating more but i've got "the fear" that doing so will put on fat again. I'm 5ft 4 and 198.2lb (Highest weight 222lb) I am aware muscle weighs more than fat so yes I…

Potentially not eating enough
I'm not sure i'm actually eating enough, amazingly! Just rechecked my BMR which is at 1681 based on me being 30yrs old, 64 inches high, my current weight (199lb) and my mini goal weight (190lb). I'm currently eating 1650cal a day and maybe eating as much as 300cal over that on run days but even still I should be eating…

Reducing anti-depressants & weight management
This week i've been dropping my Citalopram from 20mg to 10mg doing alternate days, but noticed my appetite has been up and down, which I know is normal, along with feeling more tired. All I know will pass as I was on 30mg previously. I've not been keeping track of what i've been eating lately as I couldn't focus due to…

intermittent fasting
Is anyone doing the intermittent fasting (IF) as seen on the BBC's Horizon http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19112549? In a nutshell you fast for 2 days a week but you can consume 500cal/day for females, 600cal/day males; eat normally the other 5. Does anyone have a great way to break that 500cal/day down? 1x500cal meal?…

Standing workspace rather than seated
I've just set my desk up to be a standing desk as I work freelace from home and on my pc 7 days a week (not working 7 says, I do play a lotta games too!) as I am sure this will be better for me. What I am wondering is how many calories will this burn in an hour compared to sitting? Is there an exercise calculation for this…

Calorie of products when no info available
How do you work out the calories of a store bought product that has no nutrition info on it? Eg bought a loaf from the Tesco bakery last night as it was reduced to 32p, no calorie details on it. The Tesco website say that's due to variability in ingredients between store bakeries. Is there any reasonable way to guesstimate…

Any freelancers/work from home "losers" out there?
I'm a freelance illustrator and I work from home. My daily commute is normally from my bedroom to the spare room via the kettle and the jar of coffee. If you, like me, are a workaholic how do you find exercising? I used to go to the gym every weekday morning 4 years ago (when I was unemployed and working on folio and job…

New start :)
Hello :) Rowena here. I joined just over a week ago and i've decided to start using the forum to keep myself going. When I was ~22 (28 now) I was very fit, gym 5x a week and eating well. Sadly things changed when I moved, personal circumstances, depression; 4 years went by and I put on a lot of weight. Decided now is the…
