Helping a friend with Fibro who needs to exercise
Hi there! i hope you don't mind me checking in with all of you. I'm a long-time member of the mfp community; I don't have fibro, but have a dear friend who suffers from fibro, as well as some trauma issues. She was explaining to me how much she wants to stay in shape, and how sad she is for gaining weight in the last year.…

What to do after P90x ??
Hi there! I was hoping to get some ideas on what to do next..... I will be finishing my 2nd round of p90x in a few weeks. I know the booklet gives you ideas on how to mix in P90x workouts part-time with regular outdoor exercise, or whatever, to form an exercise maintenance plan, but I'm also looking for some suggestions…

I think my HRM is trying to kill me...
Does anyone use the training programs on Polar HRM? Mine had me at 6 hrs, then 6 1/2, now this week it changed to 7 hrs, and 3600 calories (I'm on maximize fitness because the other programs seemed light). While I'm killing myself to accomplish this by end of today I'm wondering what the heck this machine is going to tell…

Men - HRM opinions?
Hi there! I'm thinking of buying an HRM for my husband. I have the Polar FT60 and like it alot but do not have experience with any of the other ones and I'm not sure if one is better for men or woman, or if that matters at all. Are there are some features techy guys might like that I don't know about? I do know my husband…

Best HRM for Men?
Hi there! I'm thinking of buying an HRM for my husband. I have the Polar FT60 and like it alot but do not have experience with any of the other ones and I'm not sure if one is better for men or woman, or if that matters at all. I do know my husband loves the Garmin brand from using them for GPS over the years. I know they…

HRM use- question about training programs
I'm confused about training programs on HRM's and figured since Polar seems to be the brand most talked about on this site, maybe someone on MFP could help. When setting up a training program for our HRM (I have the FT60), we are asked whether we want to lose weight, improve fitness or maximize it. I'm on maintenance, I do…

30 Day Shred--What kind of Toning are you seeing?
Hi--I'm on maintenance but started the 30 day shred 2 weeks ago for toning, as I'm not really losing any more weight. I'm just wondering if any of you who have been through the whole program can give some insight into what changes you noticed -- what areas were most helped after completing the 30 days. Also, about when did…

Polar OwnZone Users?
Hi there. Many of us talk about our HRM's on this site so I thought I'd ask this group instead of the Polar Forum as I find this group to be a much better resource. I have a Polar FT60 (have used it since July of last year), and have been using the age-based zones some days and the Ownzone other days. I find the zones I…

Self Image and Weight Loss
I think about this way too much. Why is it, even though I'm on maintenance and a perfectly small size in most people's eyes do I still see myself as big? When I look in the mirror, when I see myself in pictures.... It's like my eyes see the same thing now as before I lost weight. If I didn't buy a size 4 pant I wouldn't…

Ravenous!!
That would describe me this weekend! Typically I'm pretty good but I have no idea why I'm so unsatisfied with anything I eat over the last few days. It's only 1pm and I have already used up all my calories for the day. And, I really need to take an exercise break today (even though I know I can easily bank a few extra…

Exercise, going from every day to less
Hi there, I have been using my elliptical everyday for the last 10 months. I keep reading that we need rest days though and am a little worried. I do get other forms of exercise as a matter of course, but with a 5 year old in tow, I don't really count on these as calories to add back because I can't reliably do anything…

Pedometer and Heart Rate Monitor use
Hi there! I just bought a pedometer and think I must have made a mistake. Maybe I should have bought a HRM instead? Is there a reason to use both? I do want to know how many calories I'm burning when I'm taking walks or rambles in the woods; something I think the pedometer should do. But I'd also like to check the accuracy…

When to Maintain?
Hi there! Just a question about what the ideal weight should be. When I look at weight charts, they just show weight ranges for small, medium, large, frames, and the ranges are kind of wide. I think I'm almost ready for maintenance, but after losing each pound I feel like I'm in competition with myself.....I see that…
