Hi again
I was on here a few years back and then lost track of it. Things are really chaotic in my life right now so I want to control the controllable and get my fitness in order. Make a positive change. I used to be more of a runner but after I ran a marathon last March I've been more interested in weight lifting. It would be…

Anyone work at a gym?
Just curious what it's like, and how you like it. It would seem it could be fun to work with other fitness-minded people, probably flexible schedule, and getting a chance to work out should be easy. What are the downsides?

Statham vs Arnold
Was discussing this at lunch today with some friends, who would win in a fight Jason Statham or Arnold Schwarzenegger? (both at their prime, not present day) Does sheer size/strength win out over speed/agility every time? Arnold is much bigger, but Statham is pretty in shape too and has studied martial arts. My friend who…

What is your best time of day to work out?
I have found I can run in the morning no problem, but lifting weights? Forget it. I might be able to do 10 pushups in the morning, but 40 in the afternoon. Lifting weights I've gone through cycles, there have been times that I have had great workouts at night, but lately it seems it has to be in the afternoon. Morning I…

Backups
Just curious if any people view their MFP friends in this light. There certainly are a lot of the flirty hot or not, bang, pass etc threads. Or is it all just BS? Discuss. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2014/10/03/back-up-husbands-emotional-affairs-and-the-rise-of-digital-infidelity/

Mindful eating experiment
My big problem with my diet is snacking. I stay fairly healthy during meals, but then (normally at night), I'm idle and not even really hungry but snack and lose track of my calories. So here is my idea I'm going to try. Whatever I want to eat I will count the calories before hand, divide by 10 and I have to do that many…

Setback after a couple weeks off
I had asked my wife to be honest in the past with me on appearance things (does this shirt look good before a big meeting, does it look like I'm gaining muscle, etc), so this morning she walked into the kitchen patted me on the tummy this morning and said "This shirt is looking a little tight on you". Said I have…

Trouble transitioning to cutting fat from gaining muscle
I initially got on MFP to lose weight. Went from 190 to 165 or so, gaining some muscle along the way but mostly burning fat. Then decided to "bulk up" some, which was a lot more fun. Mission accomplished, I'm 180 or so (definitely not all muscle but have made some noticeable increase in muscle). But now I am finding a…

People acting like children at work
Lately I have been surprised by a couple of childish things that happened at work. First I had a nice water bottle on my desk that disappeared and then showed up about a month later in the lost in found looking like it was used for a chocolate milkshake (at least I hope that's what it was although I didn't bother to claim…

Get better at logging before asking for advice?
I want some help with adjusting my diet to fit my goals, but is it better to get more disciplined about logging and meeting macros (even if these aren't set properly for my goals) before asking for advice, or just come with my questions even if I have very little or inaccurate data for you to observe? I don't want to waste…

Haters (rant)
"Haters gonna hate" is possibly the stupidest saying I've ever heard. It is narcissistic and delusional. No, lets not even consider that maybe you are misinformed or straight out wrong, it's just people being "haters". A person's actions couldn't possibly be the cause of people not liking them, others just "hate" for no…

Omega-3 Fish Oil Supplement
I've been looking to take an Omega-3 supplement (possibly with EPA and DHA) for it's heart and brain benefits however I am confused about the dosage. My wife picked up a supplement from GNC that has 1560mg of Omega-3, but from the reading I've been doing only 500mg-800mg is the recommended dosage for a healthy adult male.…
