Just curious if any people view their MFP friends in this light. There certainly are a lot of the flirty hot or not, bang, pass etc threads. Or is it all just BS? Discuss.

I think the problem in the question you pose is that you give 2 options a) people think that about MFP "friends" or 2) it is all BS.

There is probably a healthy mixture of people and intentions. For me, I don't generally post in those threads anyway. I probably have a couple times, but nothing significant. Occasionally, on my FL, I will throw out a flirty comment or compliment. But this doesn't lead to a "relationship," or even repeated, on-going comments. To me, in my life, there is no other option than the woman i am with.

But, I am sure that there are others who consciously or subconsciously have someone on the "back burner." It would seem that planning for a relationship to end like that can contribute to a relationship ending. Then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yes I have back burners...No they are not on this site...I use this site for calorie tracking...not dating. But to each their own I say.

I'll be an extra burner if anyone needs to cook more than one thing at a time.

I think it is difficult to call someone that lives 1000 mile away that you have never met in person a "back up". Not saying there is not some hanky panky most likely happening somewhere on here.
