Does eating bread make anyone else hungrier?
When I first started using MFP, I immediately dropped bread because I noticed how many calories are in it. Now, about 6 months later, I found a type of bread with only 50 cals per slice, Nature's Own. I've been eating it, and because I've gone so long without it, I'm able to clearly see how my body reacts to it. Quite…

How I sometimes curb my hunger for several hours.
This little trick really works for me although I rarely do it these days. This is great to do if I know I just won't have time for breakfast, but it's also great because it curbs my hunger for several hours and even wakes me up in the morning without coffee. As soon as I wake up - I mean right away - I drink one cup of…

Runners: Did slowing your runs lessen the knee pain?
I've been running for several weeks now and of course, the knee pain kicked in a couple of days ago. I've been running intervals. I really don't want to stop so I'm wondering if just slowing down my sprints will be easier on my knees. Has anyone done this? Will bringing my sprints down a couple of notches help me out with…

We know music moves you. What about movies?
It's well known that music stirs up emotions and gets your body moving. That's why they blast it during aerobic classes and sporting events. But, what about movies? Are there any movies that just make you feel like benching pressing the universe? Any specific scenes? For me, seeing the long fight scene from Kill Bill…

When you cook with oil, do you count it?
I rarely use oils to cook but I did today. I'm not sure if it's something I actually ate or not considering I oiled a pan to make stir fry. Do you count oil used to cook?

Have you kicked coffee/caffeine? How did YOU do it?
I've read a few different strategies online (and in these forums). The only one that seems to make sense is a weekly gradual decrease in your coffee. I think I'm going to try it. Starting tomorrow, I'm only going to drink 2 cups in the morning. Next week, I'll drop it down to 1 cup and drink a cup of decaf on top of that.…

Want to really accelerate your weight loss? HIIT. It REALLY
Okay, check this out....I used to run at a steady pace and switch it up with walking every few minutes. I'd get a great calorie burn and go a long distance, but my body wasn't really fatigued. Well, a week ago, I changed my jog up to intervals. I've noticed two things: weight loss really is accelerated. I've gone from 230…

I'm having a HUGE Easter Day BBQ....
I'm having a huge Easter Day BBQ with many friends. My goal is to serve several low-cal dishes and here is what I have so far. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them: 1. Meats are meats, of course. However, I'm also grilling many veggies and will have rice available. I've ditched the chips and salsa. 2.…

What would you do?
Ok, here's the deal: When I started using MFP, my scale was off by 10 lbs. It read 260 when I actually weighed 270. Fast forward 5 months and I've lost 40 lbs. I buy a new scale and realize my old one was broken. I weigh 230 thinking I weigh 220. I'm still happy with my current weight and it is pretty much ideal…

I'ev lost 37 lbs so far. Here's a system that worked for me.
I'm down 37 lbs in 5 months. Using the MFP food diary, I was able to experiment with different foods and figure out a solid system that works for me. Check it out... -I eat 6 times per day. Because I work all day every day, everything is quick and thrown together. -For my first 4 meals (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch,…

Suggestions for a pulled back muscle
Hello All, A few weeks ago, while hiking, I pulled a back muscle on my right side underneath the shoulder. I feel a burning sensation mostly while walking or standing for long periods of time. I've gotten an X-Ray and there is no bone damage. I've given it time to heal and have taken it easy since then but since the pain…

This website has changed my life.
Hello All, This is my first post in the message boards. I've been using MFP for 25 days now. I started out weighing 260 lbs on November 1st and today, on Thanksgiving, I weighed in at 245. I've lost 15 lbs by simply watching my caloric intake! When I first registered with MFP, I told myself I'd start out by simply counting…
