I'll cling to my old fashioned light bulbs too!
King 5 News was at Kent Station this morning doing a story with GE while they were passing out the new fangled light bulbs. They don't even need to offer me any because I'll fight to the end to keep my old fashioned light bulbs. Matter of fact, I'm going to stock up on them this weekend.

FOR ALL THE MOMS
Awesome Mom Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all…

MY LAST TRIP TO COSTCO
My younger sis just e-mailed this to me. Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Jake, the Wonder Dog and was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had an elephant? So since I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I…

THE HAIRCUT
My daughter just sent this to me. The Haircut One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next…

Growing Up Without a Cell Phone
If you are 30, or older, you might think this is hilarious! When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... Barefoot... BOTH ways... yadda, yadda, yadda And I…

IF MY BODY WAS A CAR
If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ... But that's not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close My traction is…

TICK WARNING
TICK WARNING I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it myself a couple times unintentionally but this one is real, and it's important. Please send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list. If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking for ticks due to the warm weather and asks…

FLAVORING FOR OATMEAL?
I just came up with (what I think) is a brilliant idea. This weekend I bought some plain instant oatmeal, the kind that comes in the single serving packs. I take it to work and have breakfast at work. I had some of those individual packets of flavored drink mixes, the kind you put into your water to make flavored water. I…

ASKING FOR PRAYERS PLEASE
I just found out some shocking bad news this morning. A young mother from my church lost her little boy last night. Apparently he died in his sleep. He was only around 3 months old I think. She was a single mother but the church embraced her and her baby. She was my son's best friend. Please pray for her and her family.…

A NONJUDGMENTAL question about drinking
Ok, I asked a question on another thread and someone got offended by a comment I made so I'm going to start my own thread. Please understand I'm just curious about something and I'm sincerely not trying to stir up trouble or be judgmental. That said, my question is for those of you who drink. Can you relax or unwind…

WHY WOMEN SHOULDN'T TAKE MEN SHOPPING
WHY WOMEN SHOULDN'T TAKE MEN SHOPPING After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse. Yesterday my dear wife received the following…
