heart rate questions
I was reading a post the other day about resting heart rates. I think mine is in the 80's. Some people were commenting that the higher your resting heart rate is, the more out of shape you are. They were averaging in the 60's. I was led to believe the higher your resting hr was, the more your metabolism was revved. Is that…

ok, I guess I'm due for a cheat meal. I usually stay around 1200 calories a day, but the scale isn't budging. Would I kill my carbs if I had a pint of house fried rice? Really need some advice......

Fed up and feeling down
OK, so I'm having a pity party. Right now I'm so sick of working. I work for a telephone company and work crazy shifts and hours. Unfortunately I very rarely have weekends off. We're a big camping family and I feel like all I do is work and I don't have any fun. My one day off here or there is always filled with cleaning,…

working out, hungry!
Stupid question here--when I work out on the treadmill or exercise bike, I feel fine. Now that I'm doing the 30 day shred every morning, I'm starving during the day and can't seem to get satisfied. Does this make sense?

30 Day Shred-Day 1
OMG, I survived! I totally love this workout! The only thing I can't do is the jumping jacks. With being large breasted, it hurts, no matter what type of bra I wear. I did the modified version of them-the arm movements and just kicking my heels out. I burned 294 calories!!! Curious to hear what size weights you all started…

Sweet potato fries
Can anyone tell me the best way to make these in the oven? I did diced sweet potatoes before, but they dried out, so I think I cooked them at too hot an oven. I want to make fries tonight and want them to come out yummy!

Biggest Loser DVD-tracking calories burned
In doing a Biggest Loser workout, I have a sportline watch that has a built in pedometer to track calories burned. Will this be accurate to get my total calories burned? Any suggestions? I also have a sportline that isn't a pedometer, but it seems it tracks the calories a bit high.......help!

Heart Rate Monitors???
I have a sportline hrm, but it is only tracking calories burned if I'm walking-like a pedometer. If I'm doing other vigorous exercises, like say scrubbing the floor or something that gets my heart really going, it doesn't register anything. Today, I worked out in the yard for 2 1/2 hours, weeding etc. It only registered my…

BMR vs. recommended calories
I was logging my daily food/calories into another website. There is a huge debate going on about whether you should eat calories recommended by that site, vs. eating your recommended bmr calories. It's all so confusing, but my bmr is telling me to eat 1692 calories a day. That's just too many! My recommended is 1371. To me…

Isometrics-does anyone still do them?
Hi all, just wondered if anyone remembered the huge rage with doing isometrics? My favorite is, while I'm curling my hair each morning, to hold my stomach in for 30 seconds at a time. I can feel it raise my heartrate when I do it several times. Does this really work??? Thanks :)
