Sodium and Weight Gain
Hi all, Have any of you noticed a difference in your weight as a result of consciously reducing your sodium intake? I just paid attention to my sodium intake for the first time today (and will from now on!!) because I had gained weight since my last weigh-in (3 lbs) despite working out (running, power yoga, kickboxing etc)…

Sweat during exercise means....
I've always been in fairly decent cardiovascular health and ever since I started running as a 15 year old I have sweat a lot. I have also read/heard that sweating is a sign that your body is cooling itself off effectively and that you are hydrated. At 31 I still sweat as soon as I start working out- whether it is running,…

Any women have only 15-20 lbs to lose? Add me!
If you are a woman with 15-20 lbs to lose please add me! My body is not giving up weight easily. I've been on MFP since late November and my weight keeps going up and down. I know I don't have a ton to lose so I'm being careful about eating the right number of calories (generally around 1500), eating lots of fresh foods,…

Harris Benedict Equation, BMR etc
Hi all, I am 5'7 and weigh 155. My BMR is 1500. When I plugged in all my info to MFP I followed the suggestion to categorize myself as sedentary since I sit at a desk for work most of the time. I did not factor in my exercise. 1500x1.2 means I need 1800 calories to maintain my weight. 500 calorie daily deficit to lose 1lb…

Moroccan Food
Going out for Moroccan food tonight for a friend's birthday. I ADORE Moroccan food and have not had in at least a year. The first time I had it was with a Moroccan family in France at their home. We sat around a large platter of couscous and meat and shared the meal. We ate with our hands out of our own section of the…

Fresh fruit: Good for weight loss?
Have you been able to lose weight by eating a lot of fruits? I thought I was being healthy by eating a lot of fruit today but when I saw that I was over my recommended sugar by almost 20 grams at only 2 pm I was alarmed- I'd say 95% of that sugar came from fruit/fresh veggies. Fat, sodium, carbs are very low today so far.…

Music!!!
You are approaching the end of a hard workout- a run, for example- and you think you can't do it anymore. You just want to stop. Do you have ONE go-to song on your ipod/mp3 player that you know will immediately give you the boost you need to fly through the last bit of your workout? "Somebody Told Me" by the Killers can…

"Sedentary"?
Wondering if I entered my information in correctly. Even though I work out 4-6 days a week (60-90 minutes) I put myself down as sedentary since I'm a lawyer and basically sit at a desk all day. I think this is right- but just checking. I know MFP used that description to give me my goals and such so want to make sure I did…

Yoga
Would be nice if the MFP exercise database had more than just generic "yoga" listed!!!! There are so many different types of yoga and they vary in caloric burn..Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, Bikram.... Depending on the type of yoga you practice you can burn anywhere from 200-600 calories a session.

Hello!
I've been on here a couple of weeks now, and am pleased with how I am actually monitoring what I eat using MFP and how it affects my daily decisions. I also love the motivation from the MFP community! I am 31, 5'7 and 155 lbs. I'd like to lose 15-20lbs! I've always been pretty active and used to exercise religiously but…
