Going out for Moroccan food tonight for a friend's birthday. I ADORE Moroccan food and have not had in at least a year. The first time I had it was with a Moroccan family in France at their home. We sat around a large platter of couscous and meat and shared the meal. We ate with our hands out of our own section of the platter. I loved the communal experience and truly enjoyed the authentic flavors. This was many years ago...

Anyway back to tonight in Chicago- suggestions on how to keep it healthy? Most of the stuff is not too unhealthy in my mind, but any helpful tips will be appreciated anyway!

I tend to eat a lot of that stuff when I go to those types of restaurants. We have a chain of restaurants here called Palm Palace (formally known as La Shish; however the former owners were jailed for funneling money to Hezbollah....... anyway......) and they serve Lebanese food. There is also a small section for Moroccan food on the menu. The food itself is actually pretty healthy, so I would just watch portions if I were you. Big on the salads and veggies; small on everything else, etc.
