Starting over not quite from scratch
I've been on MFP before but let my participation lapse. I pretty much achieved my goals, but have put on a few pounds that I want to take off. I just recently retired (and am loving it), but I want to be careful of my health. Each summer, I do a long distance bike ride, but I certainly can't count on that alone. I've…

Heart rate monitor calories with beta blockers
I'm taking beta blockers which lower my heart rate some. I use a heart rate monitor when I exercise and I'm wondering what the beta blockers are doing to the calorie count I get from the monitor. I'm assuming that it's making it off some, and I've read some posts on here that seem to verify that. I'm hoping to get a…

Unfriending???
I wonder how many MFP users ever go through their friends list and weed out a few of the folks on their list. I just went through my friends list and unfriended a few that I never hear from. I keep my list purposely short so that I can respond to each person's status updates, etc. and feel like I'm actually supporting…

American Heart Association cookbook
A couple of months ago I purchased the American Heart Association' new cookbook and have been enjoying putting together some of the recipes. I've had to buy a few ingredients we didn't normally have on hand, but if you enjoy cooking, that's all part of the adventure. The recipes are heart healthy so they are good for you…

Selective support???
Here's the deal. I try to keep my friends list to a level that I think I can handle. In other words, not so many people on it that I'm not able to occasionally try to offer some sort of encourgagement to everyone on my list. I kind of assume other people do the same, though I know that's probably not universally true.…

Looking for a few more friends
I've been with MFP for a few months, but have never really added a lot of friends. Now I'm at the point where I think I could use a bit more support. It has been a great site, though, and I'm encouraged by all the posts of people sharing their successes.

Lower blood pressure
Two months ago my blood pressure was around 150/90. Now it's at 112/64.

New metric for progress
While I'm really motivated by my vanity in wanting to look better, one measurement that I've been taking pretty consistantly probably means more than lost pounds and inches. That's my blood pressure. Before I started this journey a month and a half ago, my blood pressure was regularly around 150/90. With just losing 10…

John in Salem
I've been using this site for a month or two so I'm not totally new to it, but I am inspired by it. I've been recommending MFP to friends and family. So far I've lost 10 lbs., but the biggest difference I've noticed is my blood pressure starting to become more normalized. Not to mention that I've been wearing some clothes…

Almost two weeks in to using this site.
I've recommended this site on my Facebook page. I like how easy it is. My goal is to keep off the pounds that I normally gain during the winter, and get to my summer weight or below.
