Please... Share. This is my 2014 goal. So - I'd like to hear about who has done all three in a calendar year.

5k mission/race... Anyone?
I just did the first of the race missions - the 5k. It was odd - the music and the talking played together... First, and only real, "problem" I've had with this app. But it was a great milestone!!! My first 5k, the first time I ever really ran honestly, was 2 months ago and it took me about 76 minutes... It was the "Run…

Have been talking with Zombiechaser about a lot of specific exercises to utilize for preparedness for the upcoming Spartan Sprint; also everyone has see her awesome challenges, right?! Essentially the Spartan Sprint scares the hell out of me... I'm sure many of us are in this boat too. I've done my share of mud runs... One…

Last night was my first REM cycle in days...
Anyone have any good tips on middle of the night pain that doesn't let you sleep well? I keep considering checking out one of those fanicer beds... Sleep numbers? I guess that's the real question... What are we all sleeping on that helps with pain reduction?

Pittsburgh places to run this game...
Anyone else in Pittsburgh play this game? I'm collecting my favorite run spots that work with the storyline... Seeing if anyone else had ideas.
-
Just ran the 10K mission (SPOILERS!!!)
Anyone else out there do it? Honestly - I'm not to certain about how I feel about Paula being alive. Or, ok, maybe alive... That mission when Paula first turned up in the audio recording - I was stopped in my tracks and started crying along with her and Dr. Myers. Thoughts? I just like it and I'm curious. :)

Silkscreening Spartan shirts?
Does anyone have access to inexpensive silk screening material? Oh... Yeah... I do. There is a place around the corner from my apartment called "Artist's Image Resource" http://artistsimageresource.org/ - all I'm saying is that on Tuesday nights it's open to the public - like a buffet line it's all you can silk screen for…

P90X, DDPYoga, TapouT XT... AHHH!

Jmkirin is now Runner_5
Anyways... Hi... I decided to change my username to what I ran for. Or stood for. No - what I run for, yeah. :)
-
So - where are you by the way?
I'm in Pittsburgh. More specifically - the North Side near the Mexican War Streets.
-
Facebook anyone?
http://www.facebook.com/jasonkirin That's me.

What I can offer -
One thing I've learned throughout my mud running history so far is that what becomes most useful are two things; cardio and parkour. I woke up this morning and thought, "maybe we could train together - this Spartan group." Well - I think that's a great idea that I had there... I know that the Spartan Race folks send a…

COUPON CODE 15% OFF FOR RACE!!
EXTOLE15 Quick google search pulled that one up for me. Knocked 15% off the ticket price.

And you wake up...
...ten, fifteen, times in the night and moan, gasp for air - a thoracic disc herniation feels the way drowning might if instead of your lungs filling with water you were breathing in a pure form of pain. Your diaphragm and heart both feel like some form of internal fight like Cain and Abel trapped in one body. This is no -…

Zombies! Fugitives! Mud on the Mount! Oh my!
Those, in the subject, were my 3 mudders this summer. Yeah - awesome group. Love the mud running.
-
Really?
This is a great idea! I did join for the latter part of the sentence, certainly. I am 6'2" (188cm?) myself and have always found some things wonderful in women taller than me. Anyway, fun group idea.

This is not a "poor me" group... THANK YOU!
I signed up, a while ago, for a message forum called, I think, "DailyStrength" or something to that effect. I was looking for a place to discuss the spinal problems I had and see if I could find other people in my shoes; I run, I do mud runs, I do weight loss, cross train, I get depressed often, my spinal pain brings me…

Jason Kirin... Runner #5... Pittsburgh, Pa.
Subject line says it all. It's 6 years into the past... The Doctors tell me, "Pain with be chronic as long as you are alive." They weren't lying about that... They said, "get surgery, you don't have the opportunity to do certain things, we're sorry." It is 2 years into the past... I smoke a pack of American Spirits Yellow…

Shirts and names part two -
I'm all about the oddball names and shirts... There has been a new addition, however, to the shirt ideas... I am an elementary teacher at the Pressley Ridge School for the Deaf and we are connected to the School for Autism as well. To raise awareness for autism they are beginning a team called "Overcoming Greater…
