Should you lift weights if you are obese.
Long story short. I'm 5'10 down to 320 from 365 back in October 2012. I joined a gym last week. I've hit a 2 month plateau. I'm intrigued by the weight lifting. I've read some good things about it. But I don't know if I should just worry about cardio right now, try to get a lot more fat off as I have a long way to go. Or…

Liver Dump?
Before I went to bed my BGL was 104. This morning it was 150. I've seen this trend over the last couple of months since I started tracking again. Could this be a liver dump? I don't have my gallbladder anymore (not sure if that is relevant) I use the flex pen. I currently use 30 in the a.m. and 30 in the p.m. (in September…

Need some fellow obsessed buddies!
I'm about 3 months in and am still going strong, however; I would love to have more friends for motivation, support ect. I have a long way to go yet and I know I can't do it alone. I log in quite often through out the day via phone and am more than willing to dish out support to anyone who needs it as well. We can do this!…

Low sodium canned spaghetti sauces?
Anyone know of a low sodium spaghetti sauces that I can pick up at a walmart, winn dixie, sweet bay or publix? Preferably inexpensive. I don't mind making it myself as long as it's easy and cheap. Pairing it with ground turkey and shirataki noodles. Not really concerned about the calories in it as I will be significantly…

New to group.
Hello. My name is Tashia. I found out I had diabetes on December 25th 2005 at around 3:30 a.m.. I went to the emergency room with severe abdominal pains. After doing some blood work a large male nurse came up to me, stabbed my 7 month pregnant belly with a needle and turned to me and said "you're diabetic" before leaving…

Does anyone drink apple cider vinegar in water?
I've been drinking a tbs of apple cider vinegar in 16 ounces of water since Friday. I read it could boost your metabolism ect. I noticed that I get some mild stomach pains for a few hours after drinking it. Has anyone had this issue? I've lost nearly 4 lbs since Friday. I don't know if it's that's a reason why I've lost so…

The food talks....
Okay well not really, but I have a huge imagination and often times I'll be offered food at home or at work and all I hear is a little voice in my head saying "You really want to waste calories on the salad dressing?", or "you'll have to walk for at least a half hour to burn off that snack size candy bar.". Or sometimes I…

A bowel movement question.
Before logging and eating better I was going number 2 up to 4-5 times per day. Over the past month and a half of exercising and eating healthier things I have noticed that I'm not going as often and am starting to feel uncomfortably bloated. I usually go every morning and this morning ( of course on weigh in day of all…

When did you feel confident enough to jog? (morbidly Obese)
I started walking about a about a month or so ago. I started off at about 2mph, now I am up to 3.5mph. It's important to note that I'm well over 300lbs at 5 foot 10 inches. The other day I was walking as quickly as I could without running and I felt compelled to start jogging but didn't for a few reasons. 1. Just being…

It all makes sense now.
Growing up, I always blamed my excessive weight on my genetics. It made me feel better to have someone or something to blame other than myself. Looking at my family it was pretty clear we all blamed our "genetics" for our weight issues. I remember the day that I decided that eating in excess was how I was going to live my…

My first NSV post.
I'm about a month into my journey. I've had a couple nsv's this week. The first being my 3 mile walk in 65 minutes. Might not seem like much to some but it's harder than I've pushed myself in years. And also, a pair of shorts fit this week that I haven't been able to wear in over 6 months. :D Can't wait for more small…

Question about "earned calories" from exercise.
I wonder about starvation mode? If for instance I get 2000 cals a day. And I burn 400 calories in exercise, but only ACTUALLY eat 1500 calories would my body go into "starvation mode" ?

Questions about severly sore muscles.
I just completed a rigerous 2 day training yesterday to keep up with my crisis instructor certification. I do this once a year and every year I'm sore from head to toe for 3-4 days. It hurts to walk, move, sit on a toilet, lift my arms...ect. Essentially every muscle in my body aches. My questions: How can I speed up the…

I've always been obese. Anyone else?
It's been 2 weeks now and I've made a firm decision about changing my lifestyle. One of my mental roadblocks is the fact that I have quite literally always been obese. In Kindergarten I was 4ft 3 and 100lbs. My senior year of high school 280lbs at 5ft 10. I recently turned 30 and knew something had to be done. But my one…
