Fitbit scale
Does anyone have the Fitbit scale? How do you like it? I'm thinking of asking for that and/or the Fitbit for Christmas. Do you all recommend them? Thanks!

Blender recommendation
I had been using an Oster My Blend for morning smoothies, and I really liked that it didn't take up too much room and it blended in a to-go bottle so I could just put on the drinking lid after it was done and head to work. It has been smelling like something's burning and today it started smoking a bit, so i figure it's…

Flying Pirate Half
Has anyone done the Flying Pirate Half Marathon in the Outer Banks? It looks like a lot of fun and I'm considering it for next spring but I don't know that I can bring myself to register yet for something that's 9 months away. :)

Bike racks for hatchbacks
Hello, I'm not exactly sure where to put this, but it involves bikes so I'm putting it here. :flowerforyou: I have a 2012 Honda Fit Sport (hatchback) and am looking to get a bike rack. There are a ton of trails in and around my area I'd love to go to, and I'm going to a wedding in July in the Outer Banks that I'd love to…

Disney Wine & Dine Half
I just signed up for the Disney World Wine & Dine Half Marathon! It's being held on my 30th birthday and it'll be my first half, so it seemed like a good way to celebrate. Is anyone else going? Any tips from others who have done Disney races?

Morning workut people
Hello! Every so often I decide that I'm going to be one of those people who does their workouts in the mornings. I do this for a couple days and then I end up super tired by lunchtime. I end up going home and crashing super early. Anyone else have this issue? How do you stay awake through the workday? Thanks! :flowerforyou:

Running journal?
Hello, I'm looking to start running again and an old running coach once told me that having a running journal is a great way to keep motivated and track your progress. Does anyone do this or have tips? Or do you have apps you'd recommend? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Cross trainers
Hello, I just got back into BodyPump and just started BodyCombat. I went to my first BodyCombat class tonight with my running shoes, which did not work. I guess they're a different kind of stability? Does anyone have good cross trainers they recommend? I'm not sure if you have to get fitted for them like you do with…

social workers?
Hey! I've been on MFP since October 2012 and have recently recommitted - 15th consecutive day of logging in! I'm a social worker in the DC area. Any other social workers out there?

Water weight
Everyone says the first pounds you lose are water weight. How do you know it's water weight and not other weight? Just wondering, thanks.

Signed up for my first half!
I'm signed up for the Diva Half Marathon on September 14! I'm excited but a little intimidated, although how intimidating can something really be that encourages tiaras, tutus and feather boas? I'm currently at a long run of 4-5 miles, so I have lots of time to train. Does anyone have any training advice for me?

Weight Loss and Tattoos???
Hi MFPers, I was just wondering - what's your experience with weight loss and tattoos? Do they get misshapen? I've got one on my foot and one on my shoulder, and I doubt either of them will get distorted because of their placement, but I was wondering about others' experiences.

DC SOME Trot for Hunger
Anyone interested in doing this with me? It's a 5K on Thanksgiving and proceeds go towards helping DC's hungry. :)http://support.some.org/site/TR/Events/General?px=1125364&pg=personal&fr_id=1140

Driver's license weight?
Just curious - how many of you who have more than 20 lbs to lose are honest about your weight on your driver's license? I'm about 65 lbs over what mine says I am, probably because I never changed it from when I first got it at 16, about 12 years ago! Then I didn't want to acknowledge that I gained, but nobody at the MVA…

Broken hand - help!
Hi everyone, I'm hoping to find some advice and suggestions. Yesterday I was in the Run For Your Lives zombie apocalypse 5K as a Girl Scout zombie, which was amazing, but I broke one of the metatarsals in my left hand. I am currently in a splint but will probably end up in a hard cast after seeing an orthopedist. That may…

Visiting friends out of town - advice??
Hi everyone! I'm going to be visiting friends in Kansas on from Thursday to Sunday, and while I'm psyched to see them I'm wondering about the best way to continue with MFP while out there. They generally eat on the healthy side and we will probably be eating in a lot rather than going to restaurants, but I still don't know…

How often do you weigh yourself?
Just curious. Every day seems excessive for me personally, maybe I'll do every week, same time (before eating, after using the bathroom first thing).

Running in the dark
While this is my favorite time of year, the days are undeniably getting shorter and I'm finding it hard to find a time to run. I can't go before work because sunrise is now around 7:15 and it's tough after work because sunset's somewhere around 6:30 or so - unless I dash home quickly and go back out the door (I live close…

NSV - running!
A year ago I moved back home and was rather depressed - out of grad school, no job yet, no money, etc. I was taking long walks through one of the bike paths by my house just to get out of the house and get some exercise. Yesterday, since I started running in March, I actually RAN farther than I walked a year ago! And I…

Hi!
Hi everyone! I joined over the weekend and spent some time lurking and figuring out how this site works. A bit about me - I'm a social worker in the DC area and will be 28 in November. I used to be thin, then grad school happened and then ... not so much with the thinness. That's where MFP comes in. I tend to be really…
