System Reboot after Gallbladder removal
I had my gallbladder removed yesterday. I'm taking this golden opportunity to reboot my whole digestive system. I've read lots of horror stories of the after effects of this op so I'm going to take it really slowly. Start with small simple stuff and only introduce the risky* foods slowly. My ultimate goal is to get to a…

NSV: New PB at Parkrun
Park Run #25 today for me and I finally dragged my carcass round the course in less than 30 minutes. First Park run was back in March and it took me 39:37. Today I got round in 29:48. Nearly 10 minutes faster. Next target is to get into the top 50% for my age group. (currently at 49.47%) 28 something before Christmas??…

Making a start (2 pics)
Easter 2013. About 260lbs, didn't like to get on the scales back then. Always thought I could carry a bit of weight as I'm 6 foot tall. Camera doesn't lie though, I need to shift some timber. Brassed Off
Brassed off today. I've been on a plateau for months now. This week I've paid particular attention to everything I've eaten and every bit of exercise. I only weigh on a Saturday morning as I don't want to obsess over weight. I've gained 0.5kg. I'm starting to get disheartened with the whole thing. I'm eating better than I…

Ironman UK
I spent 8 hours today manning a feed station at Ironman UK. I just want to say "Hats Off" to all the athletes who were an inspiration. Even 90 miles into their bike ride they still said "Thanks" when all we were doing was handing out drinks and energy bars. They did all the hard work. Humbling and inspirational doing my…

All size 18" collar and all 40" trousers cleared out and donated to the local charity shop. Big hole in the wardrobe, big grin on me. :D

Another Plateau thread
Plateau... I've spent the whole of June at exactly 17st 3 (241lbs). I only weigh once per week so daily fluctuations aren't a problem for me. The solution appears to be to shock my system back into life by either cutting calories or increasing workouts. It is option 2 for me. New gym opens near me tomorrow, I have my…

Fallen off the wagon

NSV: New Shadow
I did my tenth ParkRun this morning and noticed my shadow on the path. My shadow now has a neck with a head on top. Previously it was just a blob. Me happy to have a shadow with a neck.
