Still a work in progress. 5K pb down from 39 mins to 31. Deadlift 110kg Squat 100kg Bench 55kg All still with a smile. Parkrun and stronglifts are keeping me happy. :-)

Superb effort. Well done. Try and find something heavy at the gym. Pick it up, put it down, repeat. Lifting heavy will put an even bigger smile on your face. Brilliant inspiration.

Couple of young guys at my gym (I'm 50 so most of them are young to me). Load the bar up, adjust their belt, tie their straps round their wrists and attach themselves to the bar. Did my first set of 5 deadlifts at 100kg yesterday. I like lifting heavy things.

Another NSV milestone for me today. I've been doing Stronglifts 5x5 for a couple of months now. Today I did my first set of 100kg deadlifts. Lifting heavy things is good. :-)

Currently at Squat 80kg Bench Press 55kg Overhead Press 40kg Barbell Row 67.5kg Deadlift 95kg Feeling loads stronger and clothes fit much more loosely. Guess I need to stop focussing on the scales and concentrate on the positives. New pb for 5km at local Park Run and shifting more weight than I would have imagined/dreamt…

Starting Strength is a pdf book and Stronglifts 5x5 is a web site. Both give excellent advice, backed up by really active community for help and advice. Both concentrate on good form to set up a solid foundation for future improvements. The sooner you start, the sooner you'll see benefits. Go for it.

Go Shuffler. Next time yourself wants fries enjoy them, then shuffle some more. You have to enjoy the journey as well as the destination. You are focussed on both and clearly enjoying the ride.
