When does exercise get easier??
Seriously... when? I'm not completely out of shape, but I definitely have a ways to go in terms of muscle tone. When I work out, I fatigue SO. Fast. Especially when I do strength training classes like Body Pump. I feel like I should be feeling the "exercise high" that people get but I just feel exhausted. I don't have…

Rookie exercise question
Does strength training cause a slower weight loss? I've been doing quite a bit of Body Pump and light weight lifting in order to build some muscle, and much less cardio (although most of it feels like cardio) and I've noticed weight loss slow to a crawl. Is this normal when starting a strength routine? Do I just have to be…

Girls who don't sweat? How?
I don't understand it when I look around at the gym or at yoga and see girls who are working hard and NOT sweating. It's just not fair! I start sweating buckets like, within the first five minutes of working out. I feel like people must look at me and think it's gross! Girls who don't sweat, how is this possible? Is it…

What's a good length of time to workout?
What is a good length of time to aim for during a workout? Also, should I strength train and do cardio for an equal amount of time or is cardio more important? Is 30/20 a worthwhile goal? I know some people say it all adds up, but I prefer to do my workout all at once. (BTW weight loss + toning is my goal). Thank you for…

Crockpot Chicken FAIL
Oh man, I can file this under bonehead mistakes... picked up a half-chicken at the market since it was on mega-sale and decided to do some slow cookin... threw in the whole thing with some beans, tomatoes, taco seasoning, chilies, etc... Was really excited about the prospect of this delicious meal. I'm usually good at the…

Trader Joes Super Firm Tofu... what to do?
I tried baking it, but it is such a firm tofu that it came out really dry and chewy... I think I did it wrong. Can anyone suggest better ways to eat it? I am a tofu newbie! Thank you!

If I hit my carb goal, that's WAY too many carbs... right??
I feel like MFP is way generous with the carbs. I always have around 30-60 grams of carbs left at the end of the day and this seems like a high bar. I eat plenty of carbs, so many that I actually think I've officially hit a plateau. Is the carb goal high or am I crazy?

Seriously amazing brussels sprouts
This side dish is crazy good, like trick people into thinking you went to culinary school good: Saute one or two slices bacon (I used thick cut maple bacon from natural foods store), remove from pan (drain some of the juices) Throw in some diced onion and a bag of Trader Joes shaved brussels sprouts (or 3ish cups chopped…

Weight loss consistent w/carbs at every meal?
Just curious to see what everyone's losses have been like while eating carbs at every meal. I tend to do this (slice of wheat toast in the a.m., brown rice or corn tortillas at midday, quinoa or whole grain pasta in the p.m.) but I am wondering if I should discontinue carbs somewhere during the day to help speed weight…

Please help! Perfect hardboiled eggs??

Should I cut the fruit?
I'm confused about whether or not I should cut back on fruit. Back when I tried Weight Watchers, fruit was considered a "free" food because their philosophy was that no one ever got fat eating fruit, plus it's got the dietary fiber etc to keep you healthy. MFP gives me 33 grams of sugar per day, so if I throw a small…

Super simple One-pot meal SO yummy
This is the simplest thing ever but I can't stop eating it! So good! Season a few chicken thighs and brown them over medium heat for a couple mins per side Transfer them to a plate Throw a chopped onion and a few minced garlic cloves in pan, add splash dry white wine, saute 2 min Add chicken back to pan and pour about 1/2…

Paleo people... wth is the whole BEAN thing about?
The to-bean-or-not-to-bean debate is seriously divided. Personally I don't get it. The "leaky gut" thing sounds especially suspect. I don't believe that a plant food can be so damaging as to actually cause damage to our intestinal walls. Paleo people, seriously, what do you have against beans? I'm curious to hear all…
