Phase 2 Week #2, Weigh In
Good morning skinny puppies - are we ready for a new week? This week we're going to try something new, I have a sheet for you to download and track items in. I'm keeper of the sheet so I'm not eligible for the very not-real prizes such as the mighty fruit basket which will be awarded via JPEG. I'm taking myself out of the…

(Runner) Help Understanding Vertical on a trail course
Hello all, I want to sign up for the Elk King 25k but it has over 5,000 feet of vert, most of that within the first 3 miles. I train at sea level, I own a Garmin and it tells me how many floors I go up during a workout on the trail over all, but someone told me that is misleading and I didn't have a good handle on…

Sept 25th --> Oct. 1 What's your goals for this week?
What's your goals for this week? How did last week go? I just want to stay on track with my fitness and eating and not make excuses for eating really craptastic foods. I'm using the Daily Burn app, but I am not actually strong enough to do the full 30 minutes without making myself sick, so I'm doing 15-20 minutes and…

The Recipe Thread
Hello! I thought I might make a recipe thread where we could post links or post recipes we have or ideas. I tried out a recipe for butternut squash turkey chili this week from All Recipes - expected it to be pretty awful but was surprised when it turned out. The whole family liked it which is pretty odd, they're so…

Running on Empty
I typically run 30 miles per week but since stopping sugar I've had no energy and muscle loss and injuries. Not sure how to fuel my workouts now....advice? Was glad to read about the Keto Flue tips, I had a bad headache for six days, went back to sugar and was okay but have gone off sugar again and have the 'flue' back.…

Runners, when I run too much my hair falls out - why? And what do I do?
Runners and none runners, when I start losing weight and up my workout schedule my hair falls out. I drink protein recovery shakes, eat boiled eggs and have a solid balanced diet without food avoidance. I usually eat 1500-2100 calories per day. Moderate runner of 25 miles per week with cross training and flexibility at the…

Scuzzy Floor Mat Material...
Sometimes I have to use the mats in the gym which are also enthusiastically enjoyed by school children in an after school karate program. My feet are outrageously itchy now and I'm pretty sure I caught something FUNKY and gross from those little whipper snappers. I've never had this problem before. Feet aren't red or…

Thursday! How is everyone doing today?
It's a two cup of coffee morning here, but I get to paint all day in the studio and I'm really excited! I was really sick for two years and couldn't work a regular job anymore so I pulled out my retirement and bought paints, canvass, a table to sit at etc. But I just haven't been able to get into gear and get started. I…

New Here (April 2016)
*waves* Hello everyone! My name is also Paula - but call me Runner 5, unless there is another Runner 5, then maybe call me ...Archie...unless there is another Archie...wait...okay....I'll go on... I just started lifting weights about 3 weeks ago. I kinda wonder if I do it wrong because I bring my little Darebee cheat…

Technical 15 Mile Trail Run - Need advice on shoes, gear, basic survival :-P
I signed up for a 15 mile trail run in the Pacific Northwest for October. PNW is a rainforest so I would expect it to be at least damp with a large chance of scattered showers through the day. Race organizers say the trail can be slippery. Right now training for balance via jump rope and yoga. I tend to have cranky ankles…

A Change of Weather
Will fall change the way you train? It's about to start raining here and not stop for six months. Cheers! - Runner 5

The Post Civilization Diet...
I thought to myself today that instead of crummy internalized diet talk, "I need to lose weight. I should lose weight. Why the hell can't I lose weight?" That I would just extend my fitness zombie universe into my kitchen pantry and fridge. What should I eat so I can out run that zombie? What should I eat to stay healthy…

Halloween - I'm Going a Runner 5 You?
I might make my kids be zombies just to keep it real ;-P Haha. I received a Runner 5 t-shirt in the mail yesterday so I'm ready to go!

Where do you run from zombs? and does this effect U IRL?
Outdoors? Indoors? a bit of both? I've been running outside in fort stevens, but when the rain REALLY gets here (it's a rain forest after all) some of my runs will have to be indoors. I've started a silly daily Runner 5 run blog at, http://survivalpostcivilization.blogspot.com/ if you follow me I post a photo or two per…

Want to outrun zombies with me?
We have a tiny subforum http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/6504-zombies-run-group :-) I'm an AD&D kickass sort of chick and looking for novel inventive friends who are entertaining and motivational. I do know all of Sci-Fi really too well to be normal. (I own two Doctor Who scarves for instance...) I love the app…

Two runs scheduled - should I zombie run them?
From going to no races this year I now have two to look forward to, this Saturday a five mile trail run and next Saturday a 5K. I'm a slow runner but I love to run so I'm doing it anyway! But should I play a zombie mission while I run? That's the big question!! Haha

After Earth - a Good Runners Movie
I love worst case scenarios (don't we all here?) And the movie, After Earth with Will Smith and his son is great. I won't post spoilers but to survive there is a 100km run and a ton of obstacles and monsters on the course. It would be a good run game in and of itself I think. Anyway check it out and post to us what you…

Zombie apocolyptic gear - it's a must!
I ordered my Zombie Run Game - Runner 5 - shirt the other day for Halloween...and um...one extra for just around the house. I have my small bug out bag aka my purse that has everything in it under the sun. I designed a series of bug-out pinback buttons but I never printed and minted them thinking no one would want them,…

Season 1 or Season 2 -- but no spoilers...
Are you running Season 1, Season 2, or the 5K program? (no spoilers) I just started Season 2 but found out I missed two runs for Season 1. I did part of the 5K training and it was a lot of fun, great program. :D Cheers! Runner 5 code name: 7hunters follow me :D
