M/30/6'2 [309 to 180] (1.5 years) A decent amount of pics.
Hello all, I just wanted to throw in a bit about my success story as well. Long story short I was a really bad alcoholic, to the point where I was closing in on liver issues, and was hospitalized a time or two. With help from an inpatient supervised program, I was able to get off the alcohol, and since then have completely…

Holding a 25lbs plate while doing situps?
Hello all, I have been working real hard on my transformation, and am excited that I am not too terribly far from my goal. I was wondering what ab exercises would be best? I have just been doing situps while holding a 25lb plate across my chest. Any one have anything else they like to do, or that works? Thanks!

Good home gym?
Hello all, I am not a big fan of actually going to the gym, typically because it is very busy around here, I hate waiting around and having to jump on a machine before someone else and all that. I typically run every day, and have some room in my house and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for what I can do…

Eatsmart Getfit scale. Review say it is very accurate for bodyfat, but it is wayyyyy off for me?
Hello all, I just got the Eatsmart Getfit scale, and it seems like it would/should be awesome, but it seems to be really off? I bought it, and a clamp style bodyfat measuring tool. The scale comes back saying I am only 10% bodyfat, then today 9.8%. Yet I am easily over 20% according to the clamp thingy. Anyone else have or…

For those with a Gear Live watch, Endomondo supports constant heart rate monitoring!
Hey all, I was a big fan of Runtastic for a while, but it did not support my Gear Live and its built in heart rate monitoring. I came across Endomondo, and it works great with my watch as a constant heart rate monitor while working out. It has a lot of neat features as well. I definitely recommend it! Dan

It gets easier, and actually enjoyable!
5 months, 102 lbs down, and I actually look forward to exercising each day. I feel *kitten* if I DON'T do it. Keep at it! Don't think of switching out soda for water as a bad thing, think of it as putting premium in your tank, and go hit the road! I quit alcohol, cigarettes, video games, in exchange for water, fresh air,…

Today will be my first time lifting, what should I start with and focus on and how often?
Hello all, I have been paying for a membership to Anytime Fitness for over 2 years now, and have only went about 4 times, and it was to use the elliptical. Now that I lost near 100lbs, I am needing to start lifting. What should I start with, what should I focus on, and how often? I am looking to mostly get a bit of arm and…

I am so hungry, I can't seem to get full?
Hello all, I recently lost 97lbs, and 2-3 weeks ago started exercising a lot, doing High intensity interval running the last few days. I have been so hungry though and can't seem to get full. So far today I ate 2 hard boiled egg whites, an apple, two bananas, a bag of carrots I brought to snack on, and a lunch size Caesar…

95lbs~ down, a bit about me saving my own life.
I was an extreme alcoholic for many years, to the point of liver damage. I was drinking over 4,000 calories a day in just vodka, not counting the gatorade I mixed it with and when I would go out every night and have whisky and coke. On top of that, that did not include any food I ate either. I was up to 309 until I had to…

Just started exercising, can you do it too much?
Hey all, I am finally down 95lbs, at 215 and am able to run and exercise and such, I started with really fast walking one night for about 45 minutes, then the night after I ran about 1/4 mile until I could not run any more and then walked the rest of the way. Last night I was so sore I just walked the whole time, have been…
