Virtual Walking Tours
I thought I would try one of those virtual walking tours to keep me motivated. As motivation, it is working far better than I even anticipated. I'm 15 miles away from finishing a 145 mile walking tour. I thought I would share that it is something that is working for me. I'm doing one based on fantasy novels that I read as…

Back again after several years of not engaging in the community while sometimes using the site.
I've used the site in the past and I've continued, of and on, to use the food diary because it talks to my Garmin. But I stopped using the community features and all but one friend has disappeared over the years. But I've started to get friend requests with what look like home porn photos. So I thought I would reintroduce…

FLU, never fun.
I had the gastro-intestinal flu that is going around my office lately. Not fun. I tried to log my food for today. I'm still got a sensitive system from being sick but MFP doesn't want me to finalize my menu for the day because I won't have eaten enough. It's the most I've eaten in 5 days. I'm still recovering. I'm not…

Garmin Vivofit
Does anyone else use a garmin Vivofit? I got mine about two weeks ago and I love it. But I don't have any friends who use one.

OWL DIET
I keep seeing billboards for the OWL diet. Or maybe it because I see one every day that I feel like I'm seeing more. Anyway, I find it somewhat annoying now that I looked it up. An Omaha doctor developed the diet for him and his wife because they needed to lose a little weight. Their before and after photos done look…

Goma Ae - my favorite spinach dish.
Typically, when I make spinach I make Goma Ae. Its a Japanese, cold side dish I particularily love. Buy a bundle or two of spinach. Boil until wilted. This does not take long. Drain, Squeeze out water, Chop up, Shape into small rounds. Like a meat ball but flatter. Topping (these are rough estimates) 4 T seasame seeds.…

Exhaustion Eating
Everyone knows about emotional eating, but does anyone eat to stay awake or am I just really weird. When I'm really exhausted and I can't keep my eyes open at work, I start eating to try to stay awake. I'm snot sure how I developed this habit/trigger but it seems strange and illogical. I don't know why I'm so tired either.…

Dating games
I understand asking for pictures from people who lost a certain amount of weight as motivational stories from people who have succeeded at certain numbers. But there are so many 'dating' games that seem more appropriate for pick up sites. I know people want to have fun, but it seems kinda pervy when people what pictures of…

Vichyssoise
I'm searching online to replace my recipe which has gone missing and come across a statement about not asking for this soup in France because they don't have it. It's an American soup invented by a Frenchman. That last part I already knew. But during my research on this soup when I first started making it a few years back,…

Any swimmers have chlorine issues and solutions?
I find that when I swim at the gym, the chlorine makes me itch like mad. But I'm not allergic to it. (Per allergist) Some things that I've researched and tried didn't really work. Such as washing with an anti-bacterial soap both before and after swimming, using lotions, using an anti-hystemine cream on the particularly…

My reasons for losing weight.
When I first lost weight, in my 30's, it was all about the clothes and the image. My favorite clothing line was Heavy Red and I had to buy larger sizes. So I lost weight, got to the top of my weight range, Felt fantastic. Was having fun. Then I broke one ankle and injured the other so bad it took longer to heal than the…

Restarting for the umpteenth time.
At the end of November I hit my heaviest weight at 250. I am only four foot eleven so that is twice what I should weigh. I am carrying around an extra person. I've been afraid to step on the scale for a while. I finally did Tuesday and I was down 8.4 lbs. WOOT. Yes, I've been trying to eat less but most importantly, drink…

I wonder....
About 7 or 8 years ago, I used a site I really loved and then I missed the renewal date. At the time, there was a free level and a paid level. The paid level was maybe 20$ for the entire year. I thought it worth it. But then I lost the site. I couldn't find it. I saw this site mentioned in an article and the name was…
