Back again after several years of not engaging in the community while sometimes using the site.

I've used the site in the past and I've continued, of and on, to use the food diary because it talks to my Garmin. But I stopped using the community features and all but one friend has disappeared over the years. But I've started to get friend requests with what look like home porn photos. So I thought I would reintroduce myself and maybe get some proper friends instead.

I'm 50 now. At my heaviest, I was 257. I'm down to 218. Two years ago I had gotten down to 213, after a surgery, but then I started gaining to 223 and sat there until they sent me to work from home in March a year ago. Still working from home. I had gained pandemic weight to 234. In November of 2020, I decided enough was enough and I got a new Garmin Vivosmart and started to focus on losing weight and moving more. I dropped a few lbs and my new doctor changed my diabetes medication to Trulicity and I started to lose a little more weight. From 228 to 218 in two or three months.

I discovered that one trick is to always eat veggies first. That way, if you get full, you have eaten your lowest calorie, highest fiber foods first. I always used to eat my favorites first. I also started using a food delivery system where I pick my veggies and fruits from a list on screen. I'm finding it a lot easier to get all my servings of veggies in a day that way. I'm not distracted by to many things that I don't know what to do with and I'm not rushing to get out as I'm mildly agoraphobic. I hate crowds and, therefore, hate shopping.

I always thought food order diets were a gimmic. That it couldn't matter what order you eat food. Most of them are BS. And it doesn't matter in how your body processes food, for the most part. What I've realized is that building my meals around veggies, trying to get in 3 - 4 servings a day, and if I fill up on the low cal, lower carb veggies, I lose weight. Sometimes I get more fat that I should and sometimes I don't get as much protein as I should, but on almost all days I keep my carbs down and as a Diabetic, that is what I need to do.

Anyway, that is a little about me and a bit about my weight loss journey.

    Hello,

I also get those random friend request. I find it easier to see if they post about health or weight loss before I add them. I also found I have to be the outgoing one on this app. That being said I think it's very useful to see and talk to other people that are going through the same thing as I am.

    Welcome back!

If you get any more of those porny friend requests, post the username in this thread: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10823922/help-inappropriate-friend-requests-pics

Best guess is that after the data breach in 2018, a bunch of accounts were compromised, either because the users had abandoned their accounts or didn't change their passwords. Those accounts have now been taken over by Russian sex bots. This has been an ongoing problem for a couple of months now, the staff is aware and they're working hard to fix it, but they are relying on the community to report the Russian sex bot profiles.

How do we know they're Russian?

Also, I don't think the site is "relying" on us to report them. It's so much bigger than that...140,000,000 members. I bet 2000 are regular users at any one time. Fertile ground, those 140 million.

You and I aren't of much help against that data breach.
