Tamoxifen and resulting weight gain
Is there anyone out there who has had success maintaining/ losing/ or even just fighting weight gain while on Tamoxifen? I realize it beats the alternative but after having lost over 200 lbs I am slowly watching my weight creep up and it's pretty distressing. Taking an honest hard look, some of it can be attributed to the…

Weight loss is not linear---237 lbs later and loving life
I have written success stories four times before—back in September 2013 when I was 116 lbs down, the next month when having lost that much weight allowed me to do an amazing charity rappel down an office building in downtown San Antonio, in February 2014 when I crossed from Obese class II, or “morbidly obese” to a mere…

Fostering a positive body image in teens and dealing with potential red flags
My husband and I have custody of his 13 year old daughter. We believe she is a healthy, normal kid. She's not overweight, and she's not underweight. She is around 5'6" and weighs around 130 lbs with a muscular build. She wears size 9 juniors jeans. I have noticed that lately each time she comes back from visiting her…

SuperMorbidlyObese to Triathlete (pic heavy)
Allow me to preface this with "and I'm not done yet," however, I felt that the 1 year anniversary of solid logging was the appropriate time to give an updated success story. This is one of the few very flattering full body pictures I have of myself as a before. Like many people in the boat I was in, all other full-body…

I'm OBESE!
That caught your attention, didn’t it? Who would consider being obese worthy of the “Success Stories” board? Someone who was SUPER MORBIDLY OBESE, that’s who. Believe it or not, “Super morbidly” and “Morbidly” are actual medical terms. A Body Mass Index above 50 is “Super Morbidly” obese. I think that’s a medical way of…

That just happened- why you can't give up
Hi. I haven't been real active here but this is a very special group to me. I am here to point at my ticker and remind you not to give up. I started at 387 lbs. I lost 15 colleagues in a year and I truly felt like people were saying "you're next" when they said they were "concerned" in tones that cut to my very core, but I…

Coolest NSV ever. No, seriously. THE COOLEST.
Today I did the coolest thing I have done in my entire life. I rappelled down a building in a fundraiser for Special Olympics Texas. Last year when I weighed more than 350 lbs I watched two of my friends go down. I probably looked a bit like this at the time: I'm not going to lie, that is a good picture. I was heavier than…

Before and During- 116 lbs difference. (pic heavy?)
I've been meaning to upload these but I just didn't have the nerve. IAnyway, here's me at my heaviest: You want a full body pic? Yeah. I don't have ANY that I'm aware of. There's a reason for that. I was SUPER. MORBIDLY. OBESE. It did not come with a cape and action figure, because I didn't do much. Everything hurt. I made…

Siclovia- Sunday September 29.
If you're looking for something free to do Siclovia is this weekend. It's very family-friendly. Broadway will be shut down from 10 AM to 3 PM on Sunday for you to frolic in the streets. Apparently there are exercise classes and you can bike, run, skate, skateboard, walk, crump, or whatever you do to be active safely in the…

Free used women's clothing-largest sizes
I have lost a significant amount of weight and it is time to get rid of old clothing. I have Skorts, dresses, casual short sleeved shirts, t-shirts, sun dresses, skirts, blouses, maxi dresses, some suitcoats, an and an unused bathing suit or two (I never liked one of them, the other I "undergrew" before I remembered I had…

Progress w/ pics- the reward of not giving up.
I hope this isn't against any rules but I did a search and didn't see it. If so, mods, I apologize and please delete. I posted this in success stories but felt like this was a better place for it. I've been meaning to upload these but I just didn't have the nerve. Anyway, here's me at my heaviest: You want a full body pic?…

Big NSV for the Big girl.
Today was my fastest mile yet, 46 minutes. I realize a competitive swimmer can cut that in half, but in February it was 56 minutes and I still have over 100 lbs to lose. I'll get there eventually.
