The only scale for me is a food scale!
I've decided that this time around (and there have been many times around) I was not going to measure my success of my diet by the number on my scale. It's the first time I've done something like this but I wanted to try a different approach. So many emotions are tired to that stupid number on the scale. Elation when it's…

weighing beef ribs/nutritional value
I'm trying to figure out if I should remove the meat from the bone after cooking or do I leave the bone in when weighing? The calorie count says for "Beef, rib, back ribs, bone-in, separable lean and fat, trimm" and is 306 cal for 3 oz. Is this for 3oz when weighing with the bone in??

Calories in smoked pork ribs
I'm going to a BBQ this weekend and smoked ribs are on the menu. I'm trying to work out the possible calories of that meal so I can save room for them. When I look at the database on MFP for ribs it's all over the place and I'm wondering if the calories per oz includes the bones or not?

Running my first 5K
I've been training for 12 weeks or so now, doing something similar to the couch to 5k training. Other than I've discovered I have a bit of a breathing issue, I get something that that the ever reliable Google search describes as exercise induced asthma. Of course, as I haven't bothered to get this checked out by a doctor,…

Running out of steam
I'm on week seven of a running program where you walk/run to 5k. I'm really struggling with chest congestion and fatigue. Is it normal to feel this way? It takes me at least a day and a half to recoup from it where I feel like I'm breathing normal and my energy starts coming back. It feels like a very bad chest cold, lots…

Picking running shoes for a first time flat footed runner
I just started running today. A friend and I are doing a run walk program to train for a 5K this fall. I've never been a runner, always a walker so my shoes are more walking specific. Right now I'm just wearing a pair of sketchers. I've just spent an hour researching online what the best shoe would be for a flat feet and…

Dieting for 24 hrs and still no weight loss, I QUIT!!
I'm so frustrated and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I log everything I eat except fruits and vegetables because really, they're practically calorie free and WW tells me I don't have to. I've tried everything and nothing works! It most be my metabolism! 7am- followed Atkins 8am- turned vegan 9am- did a fast…

Achieved Goal, feeling dissappointed
A couple of weeks ago I reached my goal weight....actually, I exceeded my goal weight by 2lbs. Yeah me! But after the initial HOORAY I found myself being more critical than ever. I adjusted my goal to lose more because all I see are the lumps and bumps that still remain. I guess I don't really have a question to ask, I…

Goal!! So excited this morning
Today I weighed in at 1 lbs under goal. I started my diet last March after going on vacation and discovering that nothing fit, that all the pictures of me looked horrible and I just felt awful. I'm 5'5" and weighed in at 182lbs, the highest weight I've ever been with the exception of being pregnant. I set my goal to lose…

Need suggestion for Ab workout videos
I'm only 2.5 pounds away from goal and I've successfully lost weight using MFP and walking. Now it's time to tone up, especially because I booked a cruise for our family and I have two months to be bikini ready! I can't afford the gym right now, so if you could please recommend a video on youtube that would help…

Have you become a food/dieting snob?
I'm sitting here watching the food network (yeah, I know, I'm a glutton for punishment!) and I'm watching a show where they are making muffins that after baked are rolled in butter until it soaks in and then rolled and rolled and rolled in sugar so it has a nice thick coating of on them. I used to LOVE food like this but…

New clothes are keeping me motivated!
I decided to approach my weight loss journey a bit differently this time around. I usually hang on to all my clothes ( I have clothes in my closet that cover a 30-40lbs swing in weight) and rarely buy new clothes because I know I'm still looking to lose 10-15 more lbs of weight, so why waste money on clothes that might not…

Staying motivated as you get closer to goal
I'm quickly closing in on the weight that I usually get to when I get derailed. I hit that 150 mark and when I look in the mirror I love the person I see. I feel sexy and thin, clothes hang well on my body and I lose my motivation to stick with it and keep going to reach my goal of 140. It would be one thing if I just…
