Weight Gain with Lipitor
My doctor put me on Lipitor to help with cholesterol. I had changed my diet in major ways, but it had little effect on my cholesterol. About a month after I started taking it, I began to gain weight. In two months, I gained 14 pounds. I finished the script and within 5 days of finishing, I have dropped 4 pounds of the…

Stronger than ever!
Back in December 2012, I decided I'd pick up the weight training pace and see what happens. The results is that I've become the strongest I've ever been in my life at 47! In January 2013, I cleared by best bench press weight when I pressed 335! But, the best part, I seeing the youngins watch in amazement.

A wall is...
A wall is not a reason to stop, but a cause to seek new direction. I've made this quote before and it is a paradigm for my life and weight loss journey. But, its origin came from some pretty tramatic events. In mid-2010, I was on a roll in working out and dropping weight. Then, I noticed I began to lose feeling in my hip…

Greetings from South Carolina.
Hey, y'all. I'm 46, turning 47 this week, and loving life here in Charleston. Beach is only a rock's throw away. Walked all over it Sunday, watching the dolphins playing in the harbor. Been working out for a while and trying to get weight off of me. Finally figured out what I was doing wrong and now it is just falling off.…

Workouts are best when..
The best workouts are done with friends. First, there is that one friend who pushes you to excell and to keep pushing. They wont let you fall behind and are truely concerned about your health. Second, it just makes it funner to workout with friends. My wife and I workout with a group of friends, making it a small group of…

Big.. but not so tall.
Greeting, y'all. Currently, I weighed in at 315 this morning, down from 337 in mid-March. Plan is to drop down to 250 as my first major goal, then push on from there. I set mini-goals for myself in 5 pounds blocks. Its a great motivational tool to use. Best of luck to you all! Sarge

Another successful week
It's been 5 weeks in a row I've mananged to drop 2 or more pounds a week. But, that's not all. I've been dropping size as well, especially in my lower abs. I'm now down 3-1/2 inches in my lower ab area and 1-3/4 inches in my upper ab area. The size reductions are also coupled with the 22 pounds I've dropped over the past 5…

Since March 19, I've now lost..
Since bginning the South Beach diet on March 19, I've dropped 22 pounds as of this morning! Along with the diet is my exercise routine that is doing wonders as well. 1. 30 mins on elliptical, random hills, level 10, keeping heart rate between 120-123. 2. Circuit Training room, to include aerobic steps in between weight…

Hey, y'all!
I was hoping I'd find a group of low country people. Workout pretty regular at PF in Northwoods Mall. But, nothing beats a good stroll on the beach like I did this past Sunday.

Process, not product
Good morning, y'all. I see a common post all the time about going days or a couple weeks without weight loss. I think it wise to look at a few things to help everyone understand what is happening. First, focus on the process and don't worry about the product. The process is diet, exercise, and a complete change in…

Finally on the road to success!
Its been a long time in the works, but I have finally gotten diet and exercise on the same road. In just a few weeks, I've managed to have more success than I have had in the past 3 years! I followed my doctor's wishes and it is working to perfection. I've got a great workout routine, a solid diet plan, and a lot of pants…
