Lifting advice for novice runners
Hey guys! I'm sure someone has covered this topic before, but I don't feel like digging through the past forums today to look. I have been introducing some weight lifting into my routine for the last few weeks in preparation for this week (my first week of half marathon training). I have been lifting heavy stuff…

Your Favorite Half?
Hey guys! My 2014 goal is to complete a half marathon. For those who have done mutliple halfs and or fulls which was your favorite and why? I'm in the Chicago land area so those races I'm super interested in hearing about but if not I still wanna hear from you. Fire away!

10k Freak Out!
I have been training since July to run this 10k this weekend. I didn't see the race day schedule because they hadn't posted it until last week. I ran my first 5k yesterday and did really good for myself. In fact I totally met and surpassed my goal! So I was pumped. It taught me a lot about running a race. So I started…

Runners, I need help!
Hey Team! So I just started running in May and I love it! I finished the c25k program and am now smack dab in the middle of the Hal Higdon 10k training:novice program. My first 10k is at the end of September. There is a race in November (The Hot Chocolate Run) that's a 15k. Should I sign up for it? Here's the thing: 1) I'm…

Hal Higdon 10k training
I finished up my beginner 5k training program this weekend on runkeeper. It was really challenging but I totally amazed myself. I can actually run 3 miles! I'm slow but I can do it. So now I'm starting the Hal Higdon novice 10k training program. Has anyone else tried this program. If so I'd love to hear your success…

RunKeeper and MFP
Hey Guys! I'm not sure if this is the right place to post his but here goes. I read on one of the tech blogs that MFP is now partnered with runkeeper. So now my runkeeper workouts will automatically sync to my MFP. YAY, right? But I don't know how to get both apps to talk to each other on my phone. I have a SG3 so I'm…

What to do with all this kale?
I bought a bunch of kale yesterday, and other than put it in my green smoothies I don't know what else to do with it. Someone told me I can sautee it like spinach or boil it like collard greens. If I boil them will they lose some of their nutritional value? Any kick butt kale recipes you wanna share? Thanks!

Should I walk or run?
I'm using the Runkeeper app on my droid to train for a 5k. I'm on the 4th activity which requires me to jog/walk for 45 minutes tomorrow. Which is perfect because I'm signed up to walk a charity 5k with some friends tomorrow. This walk is a "walk/run" and it's the same price to walk it or run it. If I run it I get a chip…

Music to kick butt to!
What song gets you pumped? Like if they were playing this song when you walked into the gym, or wherever you go to kick *kitten*, you'd be like "awwwww yeah!" Mine is "Ain't I" by T.I.

To Lift or not to Lift
So I think I want to start lifting. I've always flirted with the idea, but never really done anything about it. I'm afraid of getting too bulky (which as a bigger girl I know I'm already predisposed to bulk). There's also the fact that going into the weight room with a bunch of big guys who roll their eyes like "why is…

Lower sugar ideas?
First of all I should say I'm not big into super detail dieting. I usually just try to stay within my calorie limit and exercise. I have 2 jobs and a lot of other obligations but that seems to be working best for me. But yesterday I looked at my food diary for the last few days and I'm forever going over my sugar intake.…
