I ran my first half this year using Hal Higdon's novice 1 program. I totally incorporated strength training into my half training. I felt like it made me stronger. Obviously I wasn't power lifting or anything crazy but I did push myself and it was fine. I also added a few more weeks to the schedule so that I could take…

I've recently started pre-logging and it's a good reality check for me. Especially when I'm in the office and someone brings in treats. On the weekends my life is a little more scattered so it's harder for me to pre-log, but it's definitely a preference if I can do it.

I do that. It's a practice I got into when I was doing weight watchers back in the day. As long as you don't go super crazy with the extra weekend calories you should be fine.

Never seen Merlin but I love me some Doctor Who and Sherlock!

Me too! i'd kill for these suckas to go away. No luck. I lost my butt too. Now I look like a floating pair of boobs. LOL! I still have my hips and thighs though so that balances me our somewhat. Oh how I love my journey. LOL!

At the gym I used to go to there was a girl there I used to call "Sparkle" because everytime I saw her in the locker room she was putting on a full face of makeup and sparkly lotion before she would hit the gym. She was very fit looking though so I think she was actually putting in some work somewhere at some point. But…

I have been eating 1200-1400 calories per day since April and it's not really that bad. I eat 300 calories or under meals 4x a day. I eat lots of fruits, veggies, fish, and lean meats. My snacks are usually think thin bars, almonds, and peanut butter. I also allow myself to eat back my exercise calories (within reason). So…

Thanks guys! It's big charity run/walk which means all different levels are going to be there. I looked up the results from last year and only a few people finished under an hour. So that made me feel a bit better. Thanks for the support guys, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is a strange schedule. :)

This is what I look like. LOL!

I'm 5'3" and I eat between 1200-1400 calories a day. Rarely do I eat more than 2000 in a day. I'm also pretty active and about to run my first 5k and 10k at the end of the month.

Honey, please! If you run you're a runner. Period. Don't worry about what others say. Run on sister!
-
I wouldn't run on your off days just yet. Once you get some expirience under your belt you can start adding more run days to your routine. I would suggest instead going for a walk. Since you like the outdoors so much a nice log scenic walk can be your form of cross training. If you want to make the walk a little more…

I've always done my cardio first, but after reading this thread I think I'll try weights first this week and see what happens.

I'm a drinker so I let myself induldge on the weekends. I love beer, booze, and wine. I cut my drinking intake down to just weekends, and when I drink it's usually at home where I don't feel tempted to eat bad food and drink. But I also realize it's gonna happen. And when it does I chalk it up to the game and keep it…

I'm short and stout. LOL! 5'3" SW 275 CW 245 GW 180 maybe 160. I don't really think I wanna be (or could be) less than 160.

OMG! I'm so trying these this weekend!

Once a month if that. I have been derailed by the scale so much. I get so down on myself if I don't notice weight loss so then I "abondon ship" as it were and fall back into my old ways. I now use the tape measure and how mu clothes fit to gage my loss. Nothing motivates like getting into jeans you haven't worn in years!

I finished the program and loved it so much that now I'm doing a 10k training program. I definitly had to redo some weeks so don't feel bad if you do. I'm currently in a scaless summer. I have found that the reason why I keep quitting is because I weighed myself every day and got discouraged. So I vowed not to weigh myself until the end of the summer. I feel so free. I don't own a scale either so I just weigh myself at the gym when I do weigh myself. I feel like the…
