Yippee! Pureed food
After 2 weeks of full liquids (and these last few days have seemed like a month  ) I moved to pureed foods. I started my morning with a scrambled eggbeater egg w/2 tsp of cheese. The eggs were wetter than I would prefer to eat them, but still it was solid(er) food! The interesting thing I noted right away is that my…

Daily Goals?
Does anyone know what daily goals we should be shooting for after surgery? I am in the full liquid stage and I know I am shooting for 48-64 oz of fluid per day, and around 80g of protein. Are there any calorie, carb or sugar goals? I haven't found anything in my materials. I will ask at my f/u on Tuesday but just wondered…

Day 2 postop
Home from the hospital. Day of surgery was fine. Next day wasn't so great, feeling pain and a little nausea. Thankfully the hospital staff were right there w/meds but it still was an unpleasant day. Today got to go home. Still some pain but not enough to need meds. I'm not sure this is what I thought it would be, but my…

Surgery is Wednesday...
My surgery is Wednesday. I think I am prepared, as much as one can be. I am excited to see the benefits the surgery will bring to my health. I am friends with a few people on this board, but if anyone would be willing to friend me so I can look at your food diary to help me along the way, I would be grateful. It's strange…

Intimacy?
Umm, I haven't had the nerve to ask my surgeon yet (my surgery is in 1 week) but does anyone know if there are restrictions for or the timetable for when you can have sex after you have had surgery?

Immediate post-op needs?
I am having my sleeve done in 1 1/2 weeks. Can anyone tell me what I should have for when I get home from the hospital? Did you have things you didn't really need? Is there anything you didn't have that you wish you did have? I'm trying to make sure I am prepared so when I get home from the hospital I can just relax and…

Surgery date received!
I got a call from the hospital yesterday afternoon to let me know insurance had approved my surgery. They were able to schedule me for surgery on November 19th--just a little over 3 weeks from now. I'm a little freaked thinking about the "food" situation after surgery. I've seen many people state to not buy a bunch of…

Mike's Poem from the Biggest Loser
On last week's Biggest Loser, a contestant named Mike wrote a poem to discuss what he has learned about himself in his weight loss journey. There were parts I could really relate to, in that I also have that negative voice in my head, the "lesser" woman, who tells me I can't do what I want to do or be who I want to be so I…

MMPI done
I had my mandetory psychologist eval and took the MMPI test last week. The MMPI seems like a very strange test to me. Some of the questions did not seem (at face value) to mean anything about my mental health. I have my follow up with the psychologist next week so I'll see what the strange questions actually say about me.…

ICE flavored water
Does anyone know if we can drink ICE zero calorie flavored water after surgery? I know it says it is "sparkling" but it doesn't seem carbonated like pop is. (Yes, I'm from MN and call soda "pop") I just tried a couple of flavors today and I like it so I'm hoping it could be an alternative to pop for me.

Nutribullet?
For the full liquid and pureed phases, is having a Nutribullet blender worthwile, or is it not worth the money? I see some posts that reference using it to puree meats w/sauce or gravy or blend up soups/veggies. Others I have talked to said they skpped that part and just had protein shakes until they got to the soft food…

The "easy" way out
A person I know indicates having WLS is taking the "easy" way out. I thought I had a response for that comment. Committing to a surgery and then a life style of very limited eating of healthy food is not really easy, plus I will still need to exercise. The person than wanted to know why I couldn't just commit to limited…

Breakfast w/in 1 hr of waking?
I am working towards my sleeve surgery in October. One of the habits they want me to start now is eating breakfast w/in 1 hour of when I get up in the morning. I will say straight out that I am NOT a morning person. So, I get up with enought time to shower, brush my teeth, put on makeup, get dressed and if I washed my hair…

Month 2 in the 6 mo run-up to surgery
Had my 2nd appt last Friday. Only 4 mos left before I can have my sleeve done. In the first month I made some gains in changing behaviors/eating habits. I have cut down on drinking pop about 90%. This month I need to get rid of that other 10% and also start reducing caffeine drinks. (Does anyone know why you can't have…

Anemic
I am in my 6 mo pre-op weight loss program phase. I had my first appt a week ago. Thankfully I can do my weight-loss program with the people who will do my surgery. I got a letter from them last Friday indicating I am anemic and will have to get my iron back into the normal range before they can do surgery. Thankfully I've…
