What motivates YOU?!
My husband promised to take me to Scotland for a 95 mile hike through the Highlands when I hit my goal weight (a total of 72 pounds lost). I'm close enough now, that we've scheduled the trip for this May. I have to get my booty out there to RUN! I'd like to make a post on my weight loss blog about motivation and would like…

Caught in a Bad Diet Backslide
In two years, I managed to lose 60 pounds with diet and exercise (woohoo). I maintained my weight for about a year after that. I have been training for my first half marathon for a month or so now, and ever since I started running, I've done nothing but gain weight. I've gained nine pounds in four or five weeks and I'm…

Walker Hecklers
When I first started exercising outside (about three years ago), a lot of people would heckle me as they drove by -- name calling, etc. Three years and sixty pounds later, I'm STILL getting heckled. Does this ever go away? Anyone else have experience with this?

Can you make exercise fun?
Exercise has never been my cup of tea, but I just got rollerblades for my birthday (yes, like a 12 year old boy), and I am loving it! What do you do to make it less awful?

The Fantastic 8 Month Plateau!
Three and a half years ago, I started my millionth weight loss attempt after scuba diving on my honeymoon and discovering I was too fat float. Most embarrassing moment ever. Since then, I have lost 60 pounds. Sounds pretty good, right? Right...until you figure that I average just over a quarter pound a week in weight loss.…

Gimme a Little Bit a Sugah
My friend and I are debating about sugar intake. The recommended allowance is approximately 22-24 grams per day. If one apple has 20 grams of sugar, how are you supposed to stay under the minimum each day? And also, if you can only eat one piece of fruit, fiber is going to be tricky as well. What's the deal?

The deal with steel cut oats
After keeping an eye on different food threads on myfitnesspal, I've noticed a lot of discussion and recommendations for steel cut oats in your oatmeal. What's the deal with steel cut oats? How are they different than a bowlful of Quaker Oats? Are they really that much healthier?

Do men lose weight easier than women?
I'm in a weight loss class that meets once a week, and every week there is a "winner" who lost the most weight over that period. Every week, there is some guy who made the slightest change in his diet and lost a ton. One week, a guy said, "I didn't really change anything. I guess I quit drinking soda, and I lost six…

New Kid in Town
I just started my third day on My Fitness Pal and finally found some time to introduce myself. I've been working toward my weight goal of 165 pounds for about two years now. I've lost 40 pounds so far with 32 to go. I used to do Weight Watchers online and found the message boards were a great tool to help me stay on track.…
